Montgomery County Highway Department reopens Roads

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Highway Department has reopened Port Royal Lane, CB Road, Shelton Ferry Road, Lock B Road South and Southside Road to through traffic.
These roads were temporarily closed due to high water from recent rains.

Montgomery County, TN – A flood advisory continues for the Montgomery County area as water levels remain high from causing backwaters in low laying areas. The Cumberland River, at Clarksville, crested at 45.71 feet Wednesday morning, May 4th at 4:00am. By Wednesday night, at 9:30pm the Cumberland River was at 45.22 feet.
The River will continue to fall to near 44.5 feet Friday morning, May 6th.

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County area is predicted to receive an average of 2 inches to 3 inches of rain.
The additional precipitation is not expected to cause more flooding along the Cumberland River in Clarksville, although the county remains under a flash flood watch. The river was at 41 feet this morning and is expected to rise to 45.5 feet by Wednesday.

Montgomery County, TN – As of this morning, there are several roadways that are closed due to high water. Use caution around roads with water flowing over them.
The Cumberland River and Red River crested Thursday morning. The Cumberland River is currently at 45.3 feet, which is now below the flood level of 46 feet. Water levels are expected to remain at or near flood stage until Saturday, around 11:00am at which time it will start receding. It is expected to be below 40 feet by Sunday at 8:00pm.
