Jazz on the Lawn features Roux Du Bayou this Saturday, May 23rd at Beachaven Winery

 

Beachaven WineryClarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 23rd, Beachaven Winery concert series ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ kicks will feature music by Roux Du Bayou. The music starts at 6:30pm and goes until 9:30pm.

It is also the first themed event. To go along with the music, it will be a Mardi Gras theme.

Beachaven Winery’s Jazz on the Lawn kicked off Saturday in a big way

 

Beachaven WineryClarksville, TN – Hundreds of people descended on Beachaven Vineyard and Winery Saturday, May 9th, for the first concert of the Jazz on the Lawn season. Chairs and blankets filled the lawn as everyone got ready to spend quality time with friends and family.

“There’s a huge crowd already and the music hasn’t even started,” said Louisa Cooke. “It’s a wonderful night and were glad it’s already jazz season again.”

The Bicho Brothers Band kicked off the 2015 Jazz on the Lawn concert series Saturday night, May 9th.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s 50+ Olympics registration going on now

 

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now through Monday, May 4th for Clarksville’s 50-Plus Olympics.

This year’s events will be held May 12th-16th at various locations around Clarksville, to include the Pinnacle Bowling Center, Swan Lake Sports Complex, D&D Blacklight Mini Golf, Rossview High School track, and the Crow & Kleeman Community Centers.

Federal Reserve Governor Jeremy Stein fell short of declaring that credit markets are overheating, but suggested that an extended period of low interest rates could lead to the taking on of greater duration of credit risks, or to employment of greater leverage in a “reach for yield.” He said that the Fed must monitor the financial markets closely and could address signs of excessive risk-taking through regulatory efforts or through monetary policy.

Next week, President Barack Obama will deliver his State of the Union Address on Tuesday evening (which is also Mardi Gras). Most likely, the President will ask that Congress postpone the sequester through the end of the year. Note that it’s not costless to do so – there has to be an offsetting increase in revenues (possibly closed loopholes) or reduction in other types of spending (say, reduced farm subsidies). The reports on retail sales and industrial production have some market-moving potential, but seasonal adjustment could exaggerate what would otherwise be minor shifts in the data. «Read the rest of this article»
