College Street Lane Closure and Ford Street Road Closure

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water construction crews have closed both southbound lanes and the turning lane on College Street from Ninth Street to Seventh Street for road repairs. Crews have also closed North Seventh Street from College to Main and Ford Street from College Street to St. John Street. The work is expected to be complete and roads reopened by 4:00pm this afternoon.

Traffic will be detoured to Ninth Street and Marion Street.

Clarksville Gas & Water construction crews will also have Ford Street closed to traffic from College Street to St. John Street. Renowned soprano Burrows to perform at APSU on October 30th

 

Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council, in cooperation with the Clarksville Community Concert Association and Austin Peay State University Department of Music, will present renowned soprano and Clarksville native Melissa Shippen Burrows in concert at 7:00pm, October 30th, in the APSU Music/Mass Communication Concert Hall.

Described by The New York Times as “a dramatic soprano with an attractive, powerful sound,” as “angelic” by The Washington Post and, according to Theater Scene, “appealing and lyrical,” Burrows has made debuts in her young career throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

On Wednesday from 5:00pm to 5:00am construction crews will close all lanes of College Street from Eighth Street to Seventh Street and turn off water service on College from Fourth Street to Home Avenue and on Henry Street from College to Marion Street. Farris Drive Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Gas and Water construction crews will turn off water service on Thursday from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Farris Drive from Robb Avenue to Summer Street, on Drane Street from Farris to Marion Street and on Parham Drive from Farris to Kraft Street. Crews will replace two water valves at the intersection of Farris Drive and Drane Street closing sections of both roads to traffic during the work.

Motorists will be redirected.

APSU makes campus, public aware of road projects

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – As Austin Peay State University prepares for the start of the 2011-12 academic year, the campus community and the public should be aware of the various city and campus construction projects to plan alternate routes to and from campus.

Near APSU, the intersection of North Second and College streets is closed while the Tennessee Department of Transportation continues sewer repairs. This is scheduled to last six to eight weeks. If driving to campus from Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, College Street can be accessed up to Fourth Street and Home Avenue.
