Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Albuquerque Isotopes rapped out 17 hits en route to a 13-3 defeat of the Nashville Sounds on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium in front of 9,249 fans in the opener of a five-game series.

Third baseman Alex Castellanos belted a pair of homers and drove in five runs and Jerry Sands went 4-for-6, including a longball, to pace the Isotopes offense.

Trailing 2-1 with two outs in the top of the sixth inning, Albuquerque erupted for 12 runs over the final four frames.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader against the Albuquerque Isotopes on Sunday evening at Greer Stadium to wrap up a rain-shortened series. The Sounds won the exciting opener, 2-1, and dropped a heart-breaking twinbill finale, 8-5.

Albuquerque took two of three from the Sounds in the rain-shortened series. Nashville split a doubleheader for the fifth time in 2012 and moved to 5-7 overall in doubleheader action.

In the opener, Logan Schafer belted a pair of homers, including a walkoff blast in the seventh inning, to power the Sounds to a 2-1 victory.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Outfielder Matt Angle homered and drove three as the visiting Albuquerque Isotopes blanked the Nashville Sounds, 7-0, in the opener of a four-game series on Friday night at Greer Stadium.

The shutout loss was Nashville’s seventh of the season and also snapped a three-game winning streak.

Isotopes starter Fernando Nieve (5-6) allowed four hits over six shutout innings for a quality start and victory.

Nashville SoundsAbuquerque, NM – The Nashville Sounds mounted a furious ninth-inning rally in an attempt to come back from a seven-run deficit but ultimately fell short in an 11-9 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes on Monday evening at Isotopes Park.

The defeat marked the tenth time this season that the Sounds (31-47) have surrendered a double-digit run total; Nashville has plated ten runs or more only twice.

Trailing 11-4 entering the ninth, Nashville plated five in the inning and got the potential tying run to the plate before Isotopes reliever Wil Ledezma retired pinch-hitter Jay Gibbons on a game-ending flyout to the warning track in right field.

Rogers Tosses Quality Start In No-Decision For Nashville

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Albuquerque Isotopes scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to hang a 4-2 defeat on the Nashville Sounds on Saturday evening at Isotopes Park in the second game of a four-game series.

The loss was Nashville’s third in a row on the heels of the club’s season-best four-game winning streak earlier in the week. The defeat dropped the Sounds to 8-21 on the year, the worst start in club history.

Nashville out-hit Albuquerque, 9-5, in the game but left nine runners on base on the evening.
