Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Liberty Park and McGregor Park to Reopen

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announced that Liberty Park and McGregor Park reopened to the public at noon, Thursday, January 17th, after being closed due to excessive rain fall.

Clarksville, TN – With the ground already saturated, Sunday night’s rainfall in Middle Tennessee ran off into streams making it’s way to the Cumberland River.

There was 2.49 inches of rain in the Clarksville area alone. This caused the water levels of the Cumberland to begin rising around 6:00am Sunday Morning.

By 7:00pm Sunday, the Cumberland River had rose from 28.84 feet to 37.08 feet.

City of Clarksville temporarily closes parks

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Due to excessive rain over the weekend, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has temporarily closed Liberty Park, located at 1190 Cumberland Drive, and select areas of McGregor Park, located at 640 North Riverside Drive.  The boat ramp and access to both lower stage areas at McGregor Park will remain closed for the time being.  The parks will remain closed until any standing water subsides.

Walk with the Clarksville Mayor January 4th, 2013

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN -  Starting the new year with exercise?  Then join Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan this Friday night for a “Walk with the Mayor.”

Clarksville Police make Second Arrest in McGregor Park Robbery

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On December 13th, 2012, around 5:30pm, Clarksville Police made a second arrest in conjunction with the McGregor Park robbery that happened on December 4th, 2012.

Ayla Perigo was booked into Montgomery County Jail and charged with False Report.

When Perigo was questioned about the robbery, she told Detective Woodruff that another individual, other than Dunn, had been involved in the incident.

Clarksville Police Arrest Man for Robbery that took place at McGregor Park

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On December 4th, 2012, around 6:30pm, a 21 year old man in pursuit of Facebook romance arranged a meeting at McGregor Park with a woman, Sonya Howard, that he had been corresponding with on Facebook.

Howard did not show up, but Ayla Perigo, who claimed to be Howard’s sister-in-law did. She told the 21 year old that she needed to meet him to ensure he was okay for Sonya.
