Nashville Sounds down Memphis Redbirds 3-1

Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Zach Neal fired seven strong innings to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 3-1 win over the Memphis Redbirds Friday night in front of 9,066 fans at First Tennessee Park.

Neal’s fantastic outing was the first time a Sounds starter went seven innings since Corey Walter tossed seven against New Orleans on June 20th.

The lone run the right-hander allowed came in the first inning. Memphis first baseman Alex Mejia doubled to the right-center gap with two outs in the frame to put a runner in scoring position. Stephen Piscotty followed by hitting a high fly ball towards the left field wall.

Nashville Sounds get solid victory over Tacoma Rainiers

Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsTacoma, WA – The Nashville Sounds salvaged a series split with the Tacoma Rainiers after Thursday night’s 7-4 victory. The Sounds wrapped up their eight-game road trip with a 5-3 record.

Ben Bracewell was solid on the mound for Nashville, spanning five innings while allowing just a pair of runs, one earned, on just two hits to pick up his second victory of the season. His lone blemish was a Dan Vogelbach solo shot in the second inning that put the Rainiers on the board. Both free passes issued by Bracewell came in his fifth and final inning of work as he came to the end of the line.

Nashville Sounds loses to Tacoma Rainiers 9-2

Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsTacoma, WA – The Tacoma Rainiers scored a pair of runs in the opening inning and never looked back in a 9-2 win over the Nashville Sounds Wednesday night at Cheney Stadium.

Tacoma first baseman Dan Vogelbach drilled an opposite field two-run homer off Nashville starter Frankie Montas in the first inning to start the scoring for the Rainiers.

Nashville managed hits in each of the first three innings but came away with only one run. Franklin Barreto’s first inning double, and Yairo Munoz’s second inning single went for naught as Tacoma starter Sam Gaviglio worked around both in his first two frames.

Salt Lake Bees roll over Nashville Sounds, 13-4

Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Salt Lake Bees scored eight runs in the third inning and raced to a 13-4 win over the Nashville Sounds in the series finale Tuesday afternoon at First Tennessee Park.

The eight-run frame was the theme of the series for the Bees who scored 10 runs in the sixth inning in Sunday night’s win, and seven runs in the eighth inning of last night’s win.

It looked as though the Sounds would play from ahead for a while when they scored in the first inning. Franklin Barreto started the rally with an infield single and quickly swiped second base to get into scoring position. Moments later, Barreto raced home when an errant pickoff throw by Andrew Heaney went into center field.
