Tennessee Titans select UT Vols wide receiver Justin Hunter in the second round, 34th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft

 

Tennessee TitansJustin HunterNashville, TN – In the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Tennesee Titans move up to the 2nd pick (34th overall), from the Chiefs through the 49ers, to grab Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Justin Hunter.

Hunter becomes the 332nd Tennessee product selected in the NFL Draft, and the 29th to be taken in the second round.

Hunter was fourth in SEC in catches per game (6.1), 37th in NCAA in 2012. He led the Vols with 73 catches for 1,083 yards and nine receiving touchdowns.

Tennessee Titans Waive Safety Jordan Babineaux, Guard Mitch Petrus

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN - The Tennessee Titans waived safety Jordan Babineaux and guard Mitch Petrus.

In addition, they were informed by guard Steve Hutchinson that he will be retiring after a decorated 12-year NFL career.

Babineaux, who’s played nine seasons in the NFL, signed with Tennessee as a free agent in 2011. He recorded a team-high 117 tackles in 14 starts and 16 games that season and added 92 tackles in 12 starts and 16 games in 2012. Babineaux also recorded one interception in each of those seasons, including a 97-yarder that he returned for a touchdown at the Cleveland Browns in 2011. «Read the rest of this article»

The drive was the only positive moment in what was otherwise a down day for Tennessee as the Green Bay Packers romped to a 55-7 victory Sunday. Tennessee Titans Chief Operating Officer Mike Reinfeldt named to Board of New National Football League Foundation

The newly-formed foundation will focus on youth football, health and safety and community, according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who announced the formation of the new organization at an NFL meeting in Dallas, TX.

Tennessee Titans Chris Johnson Wins FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The NFL announced today that quarterback Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints and running back Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans are the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on October 18th-22nd.

Brees completed 27 of 37 passes for 377 yards and four touchdowns in the Saints’ 35-28 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
