The Tennessee Arts League will be featuring works by Clarksville artists during their November exhibitions. Below is a list of the exhibiting artists at each of their participating galleries.
Founded by a group of Middle Tennessee artists in 1954, and later chartered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational institution, the Tennessee Art League has enriched the lives of thousands of artists and the community as a cultural center, educational facility and art gallery for over fifty years. In 2005, they moved into their present facility at 808 Broadway in the heart of the historical and cultural corridor of downtown Nashville. “Women,” an exhibit of photographs by Clarksville artists Mitzi Cross and Malcolm Glass will be presented in the Premiere Galleries of the Tennessee Art League from November 3 through December 30. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 808 Broadway, Nashville.
A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The exhibition of portraits and figure studies of women focuses on alternative photographic processes such as solarizations, hand-colored photographs, and bromoil prints. Also featured is a series of works that emulate well-known paintings. Most of the photographs in the exhibit are one-of-a-kind works that could never be duplicated. «Read the rest of this article»

The Downtown Artists Cooperative will host a group show, “Les Fauves Clarksville”, which will hang in the DAC Gallery, 96 Franklin Street, Historic Downtown Clarksville, from January 8th-31st.
An opening reception will be held Thursday night, January 8th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
The fifteen artists showing are: Terri Jordan, Tammy Dohner, Malcolm
Glass, Mitzi Cross, Peggy Bonnington, Gail Meyer, Heidi Hopkins,
Connie Livingston-Dunn, Winnie Bagley, Lynn Stanley, Kathleen Chute,
Martha Yanchyshyn, Eunice Kern, Betty Liles, and Nada Fuqua.
If you can’t make the opening reception, please stop by some other time during the month of January. Gallery hours are noon to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
