Rosemont, IL – Austin Peay State University‘s second trip as part of the Triple Crown Cancun Challenge takes the Governors all the way to Chicago as they face DePaul, 1:00pm, Saturday, in the AllState Arena.
The Governors are coming off a 74-54 road loss at Western Kentucky, Tuesday, in first-round tourney play while DePaul incurred a stunning 71-59 home loss to Gardner-Webb, Thursday. This is the first meeting between the two teams. Both then will leave Sunday for Cancun to complete tourney play.

USS LST 325 docks in Clarkville at McGregor Park Boat Ramp

Clarksville, TN – This afternoon, September 25th, the USS LST 325 made it’s way down the Cumberland River from Nashville and docked at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp around 3:00pm. Crews began tying the boat off to the banks and preparing it for tomorrows tours. The ship will be available for tours September 26th-30th.
The LST (Landing Ship, Tank) is a floating monument to the past. The ship was used in various missions in World War II including the invasion of Sicily. Visitors are able to climb aboard and explore the ship as the crew provides a glimpse into her past.

Clarksville, TN – On September 26th-30th a key piece of military history will be on the banks of the Cumberland River in Clarksville, TN. Join us at McGregor Park as we welcome the LST-325. The LST crew will provide a rare glimpse into this floating monument as visitors are able to climb aboard and explore the ship.
Military enthusiasts, history buffs, and school groups will learn how it was instrumental in battles dating back to WWII.

Clarksville, TN – AJ Lynch, a 6-2 standout prep guard out of Mobile, AL, is the latest Austin Peay State University basketball signee.
As a senior at Blount High School, Lynch averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He was a two-time second-team all-region selection for Jeff Pope. A four-year starter, he was team’s most valuable player as a senior. «Read the rest of this article»

Mobile, AL – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team closed its Spring Break trip with a 4-3 win against Louisiana-Lafayette, Saturday.
Despite winning the doubles point, the Lady Govs need a come-from-behind win at No. 6 singles from freshman Jovana Karak to clinch the match. Karak dropped the opening set, but battled back to earn the deciding win.

Mobile, AL – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis lost a hard-fought battle with South Alabama, 4-1, Thursday.
While the Govs walked won only one match against the ITA-ranked No. 42 Jaguars, they managed to force a trio of three-set matches. Junior Sean Bailey picked up the Govs only win, handing Romain Bocaert his second loss in five matches.

Mobile, AL – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team lost its second straight, 5-2, at South Alabama, Thursday, at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
The Lady Govs feel to 2-9 while South Alabama improved to 6-4 overall.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men and women’s tennis teams will face Troy and South Alabama, Tuesday and Wednesday, as part of its Spring Break trip south.
The week-long trip south will prove pivotal for the Govs and Lady Govs as head coach Malik Tabet will attempt to make final tune ups before Ohio Valley Conference play starts, March 17th against SIU Edwardsville.

‘Drive the Wedge’ finishes Afghan mission

Helmand Province, Afghanistan – Gun trucks, a wretch, and distribution and recovery vehicles precisely outline a formation of soldiers in the motorpool.
“This all represents the distribution fight, our ability to move supplies down the road and to support the fight as a combat sustainment support battalion,” said Command Sgt. Maj. John Seelhorst, command sergeant major of the 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.
The soldiers of the 129th CSSB, 101st Sustainment Brigade, attached to the 7th Sustainment Brigade for their deployment, stand inside the formation of vehicles as the battalion transferred authority of its mission to the 375th CSSB, a reserve unit from Mobile, AL, at Camp Leatherneck October 12th.
