Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUChattanooga, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team put a double-digit lead on the board but couldn’t land the win, dropping a 76-65 nonconference decision to Chattanooga, Monday afternoon at McKenzie Arena.

The Lady Govs will seek to build off their season’s first victory – an 84-77 win against Grand Canyon, Saturday.

Tennessee Vols Football beats UT Chattanooga 45-10 at Neyland Stadium

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Senior quarterback Justin Worley threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more as Tennessee pounded Chattanooga, 45-10, before 93,097 on Homecoming at Neyland Stadium. The Vols ended a three-game losing streak and evened their record at 3-3.

Worley finished the day 19-of-24 for 198 yards connected with Johnathon Johnson twice and Marquez North once for touchdowns. Worley became the first Vols quarterback with a pair of rushing scores in a game since Casey Clausen ran for a two 1-yard TDs in a 2002 Citrus Bowl win over Michigan.

APSU Governors Football loses to Chattanooga Mocs 42-6

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Chattanooga scored on its last possession of the first half and the first three times it touched the ball in the second as the Mocs rolled to a 42-6 victory against Austin Peay State University, Saturday, ruining the debut of new Governors Stadium.

The loss left APSU 0-2 on the season while Chattanooga, the Southern Conference favorite, recorded its first victory after two difficult early-season losses.

But seemingly a time warp occurred since then…Think about it, no, remember the Governors Stadium that Austin Peay football team played in 10 months ago compared to the new one that will greet the Govs when they play host to Chattanooga, 4:00pm, Saturday.

Even the playing surface—FieldTurf XT—is new and includes the new Governor Peay logo at midfield.
