107th annual Lone Oak Picnic to be held Saturday, July 25th

 

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – The Central Civitan Club will hold the 107th annual Lone Oak Picnic this Saturday, July 25th from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend.

Come out and enjoy entertainment, meet public officials, and purchase excellent chicken and pork barbecue. The picnic grounds are located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.

Parking is off of Alonzo Place. Admission is free.

There will be musical entertainment and for the kids there will be train rides and inflatables.

Everyone had a good time, talking with friends, neighbors and family while eating good food and listening to great music at last year's event.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System makes new Administrative Appointments

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County School System today announced two new administrative appointments.

Jaime Dye Holder, the theatre arts teacher at Northwest High School, has been selected as the assistant principal at Kenwood Middle School.

Linda Medina-Griffy, assistant principal at Montgomery Central Elementary School, will become the assistant principal at Minglewood Elementary School.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System announces Administrative Appointments

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSMontgomery County, TN – Dr. Bryan Johnson, who is serving as director of high schools for CMCSS, has been named Chief Academic Officer.  Dr. Johnson, who earned his doctorate from Trevecca Nazarene University, served as principal of Northwest High School for two years and was assistant principal of West Creek High School for two years.

Stacy Maley has been named assistant principal at West Creek Middle School.

Montgomery Central Elementary School Honor Choir sings on the Montgomery County Court House steps

 

Christmas CarolersClarksville, TN – On Saturday, December 6th, 2014, Clarksville-Montgomery County held their annual Christmas Celebrations.

The festivities included the local school groups Christmas caroling on the court house steps, followed by the lighted Christmas Parade. After the Parade concluded Montgomery County held the official Lighting of the County Christmas Tree on the Courthouse law, and Santa visited with area children.

Montgomery Central Elementary School Honor Choir sang before the start of the parade.

Election 2014Cunningham, TN – County Clerk Kellie Jackson addressed those in attendance at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club on Saturday, July 27th, 2014.

“I’m your County Clerk. I just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you thank you,” said Jackson. “I have been coming out here since my first election, about eight years. I always appreciate being able to speak to you.”

Election 2014Cunningham, TN – Joe Sweeten, Register of Deeds candidate, attended the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club talking to the people there on Saturday, July 27th, 2014.

“I am from Missouri originally, been here here 30 years. I’m pretty sure that mom, she’ 79 years old, is chopping mutton at an event just like this. That’s where I come from,” stated Sweeten. “”I am a veteran, law school graduate, and a computer programmer with 15 years experience.”

Election 2014Cunningham, TN – Candidate for Register of Deeds Connie Gunnett spoke to those in attendance at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club on Saturday, July 27th, 2014.

“I am from Montgomery County. I have lived here for over 48 years,” stated Gunnett. “I have worked in the Register of Deeds office for 31 years. I have been chief deputy since 2006. I am a certified public administrator from the University of Tennessee.”

Election 2014Cunningham, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson talked to the crowd at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club on Saturday, July 27th, 2014.

“I took over as sheriff when we lost our incumbent Norman Lewis who passed away from a battle with cancer back in October of 2012,” said Fuson. “I took his position in December 2012 to finish his unexpired term, which is coming up here in August.”

Bret Murray talked to the crowd at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic

 

Election 2014Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 27th, 2014, Bret Murray, candidate for Montgomery County Sheriff gave a speech at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club.

“I was active duty as a U.S. Army Captain and got out to further serve my country as a FBI agent. I fortunate enough to be picked up by the FBI in 1989,” stated Murray. “I was originally going to be transferred to Los Angeles right out of the academy. Little did I know that wasn’t were I was going to end up. I ended up in Clarksville Tennessee.”
