Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announces the School Resource Officer of the Year recipients.
Deputy Jayme DeLarosa is the Elementary School SRO of Year, Deputy Richard Brown Jr. is the Middle School SRO of Year, and Deputy Tammy Axley is the High School SRO of the Year.
The winners are determined after a three step selection process.
Cunningham, TN – The Montgomery Central Elementary School gave salute our Military in honor of Veteran’s Day on Wednesday, November 10th, with their annual “Veteran’s Day Celebration” program. Students kindergarden through 5th grade participated in the event with group performances as well as grade level performances.
The program began at 9:00am in the MCES gymnasium. Several area veterans and current members of the Armed Services were on hand to be honored. There was a large turn out for the event with people standing along the walls to hear children paying their respects to our veterans.
Montgomery County, TN – Two Clarksville-Montgomery County School System administrative appointments have been announced. Roshae Harrison has been named assistant principal at Montgomery Central Elementary and Ptosha Maclin has been named assistant principal at Carmel Elementary.
Cunningham, TN – The Central Civitan Club will hold the 107th annual Lone Oak Picnic this Saturday, July 25th from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
Come out and enjoy entertainment, meet public officials, and purchase excellent chicken and pork barbecue. The picnic grounds are located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.
Parking is off of Alonzo Place. Admission is free.
There will be musical entertainment and for the kids there will be train rides and inflatables.
Jaime Dye Holder, the theatre arts teacher at Northwest High School, has been selected as the assistant principal at Kenwood Middle School.
Linda Medina-Griffy, assistant principal at Montgomery Central Elementary School, will become the assistant principal at Minglewood Elementary School.
Montgomery County, TN – Dr. Bryan Johnson, who is serving as director of high schools for CMCSS, has been named Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Johnson, who earned his doctorate from Trevecca Nazarene University, served as principal of Northwest High School for two years and was assistant principal of West Creek High School for two years.
Clarksville Montgomery County School System to have 27 Schools take part in American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart
Nashville, TN – The schoolroom lesson for February: heart health starts early.
During February, American Heart Month, nearly 400 schools and more than 170,000 students in the region covering 45 counties in Middle Tennessee will be teaching heart health and the importance of physical activity to students with the help of the American Heart Association.
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, December 6th, 2014, Clarksville-Montgomery County held their annual Christmas Celebrations.
The festivities included the local school groups Christmas caroling on the court house steps, followed by the lighted Christmas Parade. After the Parade concluded Montgomery County held the official Lighting of the County Christmas Tree on the Courthouse law, and Santa visited with area children.
Montgomery Central Elementary School Honor Choir sang before the start of the parade.
Cunningham, TN – County Clerk Kellie Jackson addressed those in attendance at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club on Saturday, July 27th, 2014.
“I’m your County Clerk. I just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you thank you,” said Jackson. “I have been coming out here since my first election, about eight years. I always appreciate being able to speak to you.”
Cunningham, TN – Joe Sweeten, Register of Deeds candidate, attended the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club talking to the people there on Saturday, July 27th, 2014.
“I am from Missouri originally, been here here 30 years. I’m pretty sure that mom, she’ 79 years old, is chopping mutton at an event just like this. That’s where I come from,” stated Sweeten. “”I am a veteran, law school graduate, and a computer programmer with 15 years experience.”
