Montgomery County receives Tennessee Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018 Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner Shari Meghreblian announced Montgomery County as one of their 2018 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award (GESA) recipients.

The GESA recognizes exceptional voluntary actions that improve or protect the environment and natural resources with projects or initiatives not required by law or regulation.

Montgomery County was recognized in the category of energy and renewable resources for their energy upgrades throughout County facilities.

Clarksville Christmas Parade delights young and old alike

 

ChristmasClarksville, TN – It was a beautiful night Saturday for the 58th Annual Clarksville Christmas Parade in Downtown Clarksville. People lined the streets waiting for the start of the parade. Children were excited in anticipation of seeing the floats and Santa Claus.

Austin Peay head football coach Will Healy was the grand marshal. The theme was “Christmas Around the World”.

‘Christmas Around the World’ leads big list of City activities

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Celebrate “Christmas Around the World” and cheer on Coach Will Healy, architect of Austin Peay State University’s amazing 2017 football success, at the 58th Annual Clarksville Christmas Parade beginning at 5:00pm Saturday, December 2nd in Downtown Clarksville.

Healy, whose Governors gift-wrapped an 8-4 turnaround season for fans, will be this year’s grand marshal. He’ll be surrounded by an array of floats and parade entries embracing the “Christmas Around the World Theme” through music, dress and decor.

Keynote speaker is Army retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 John Clement, who currently serves as the Field Representative for Congressman Marsha Blackburn representing the 7th Congressional district of Tennessee.

Seftner described the six-year transformation of Rapid City’s downtown square and shared his belief that the success experienced in Rapid City and other cities he has worked with will be duplicated in Downtown Clarksville.

2016 Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade

 

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County gathered together in front of the Montgomery County Historic Courthouse this past Saturday, November 5th to honor our veterans, as well as those who are still serving their country.

The day started off at 9:00am with a Veterans Day Ceremony. Veterans Service Organization director Frank Mir gave the opening remarks followed by the 101st Airborne Division Honor Guard Posting the Colors.

Fort Campbell Soldier, Volunteer Firefighter receives commendation for saving a child

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Congratulations to Woodlawn Volunteer Firefighter and Staff Sergeant James Munns for receiving a letter of commendation from the City of San Antonio Fire Department for his heroic efforts on August 11th while he was in Texas for military schooling.

According to the letter from San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood, “Munns took quick, skilled actions in treating a toddler for symptoms of potential heat exhaustion from being left alone in a hot car for an extended amount of time.”
