Clarksville-Montgomery County annual Memorial Day Ceremony

Memorial DayClarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County hosted its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at William O. Beach Civic Hall, Monday, with Guest Speaker Major (Ret,) Bill Summers, U.S. Air Force.

Hundreds of people filled the room to honor America’s fallen soldiers, both known and unknown, as local leaders took turns at the podium sharing their thoughts on the meaning of the heroic sacrifice so many have made for this country, and the impact that sacrifice has had on us all.

Edward Moss selected as Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court Supervisor

 

Military Veteran Recently Hired for Veterans Program

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Edward Moss has been selected as the new Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) Supervisor. Moss is a 23-year Army veteran who retired as a First Sergeant. While still serving in the military, he volunteered on the Foster Care Review Board and as a liaison between VTC and the Fort Campbell Command.

As Moss was transitioning out of the Army, he became the first soldier to participate in the Hiring our Heroes Fellowship Program in Montgomery County. Following the fellowship, he was hired as a juvenile probation officer and soon after promoted to a youth service officer.

Hundreds line streets for Clarksville-Montgomery County’s annual Veterans Day Parade

 

Montgomery County Veterans Service OrganizationMontgomery County, TN – Dozens of entries in Clarksville-Montgomery County’s annual Veterans Day Parade made their way through the streets of downtown Saturday, as hundreds lined up along the route to show respect and appreciation for our community’s veterans.

A pre-parade presentation on the steps of the courthouse featured speeches by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, as well as the keynote speech by this year’s Parade Grand Marshall CW3 John Clement, U.S. Army Ret.

Montgomery County Veterans Service OrganizationMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, November 11th, 2017 with pre-parade ceremonies set for 9:00am in front of the historic courthouse (south side) on Third Street in downtown Clarksville.

Keynote speaker is Army retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 John Clement, who currently serves as the Field Representative for Congressman Marsha Blackburn representing the 7th Congressional district of Tennessee.

City and county officials, as well as MCVSO staff will give remarks, with the keynote address given by Major (Retired) Arthur Stull, U.S. Army Chaplain.

2016 Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade

 

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County gathered together in front of the Montgomery County Historic Courthouse this past Saturday, November 5th to honor our veterans, as well as those who are still serving their country.

The day started off at 9:00am with a Veterans Day Ceremony. Veterans Service Organization director Frank Mir gave the opening remarks followed by the 101st Airborne Division Honor Guard Posting the Colors.
