Austin Peay Governors Football add 12 on first of day of signing

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Despite the program being without a head coach, Austin Peay State University signed 12 players, Wednesday, to National Letters of Intent on the first day of signing for 2013.

“I believe this is one of the finest recruiting classes we had since I have been here,” APSU interim coach Granville Eastman said. “We addressed needs and added some real quality depth to this program.”

Austin Peay Lady Govs Golf signs two in early period

 

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Golf

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – It won’t be hard for Austin Peay State University golf coach Sara Robson to remember the first names of her most recent signees.

They are both named Morgan.

The Lady Govs have announced the signing of Morgan Gardner, of Orlando, FL, and Morgan Kauffman, of Chattanooga, TN, to letters of intent for the 2013-14 season.

Austin Peay Basketball Governors sign two on first day of early signing period

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University men’s basketball team has added to its backcourt and frontcourt with a pair of prep signings for the 2012-13 season as the early recruiting period opened, Wednesday.

Cory Arentsen, a 6-5, 185-pound guard from Mater Dei High School in Breese, IL, and Preston Herring, a 6-7 forward from West Limestone High School in Lester, AL, have signed national letters of intent to play basketball for the Govs.

Lady Govs volleyball adds four to 2011 roster

 

APSU Women’s Volleyball

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University head volleyball coach Bill Egbert announced the addition of four student-athletes for the 2011 campaign. Cami Fields, of Dallas, TX; Liz Landon, of Northridge, CA; Hillary Plybon, of Orrville, OH and Jada Stotts, of Hoffman Estates, IL, have each signed national letters of intent.

Fields, a 5-7 setter, was a first-team Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) All-State 4A selection as a sophomore and senior at Dallas Christian School. She recorded 539 assists (7.0 assists per game) during her senior campaign with 170 digs (2.21 per game) and 87 kills (1.13 per set), while also earning all-district honors. Fields was a second-team TAPPS All-State selection as a junior.

Football Governors fill needs with 16 signees

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Filling areas of need, Austin Peay State University football team announced the signing of 16 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, Wednesday, to attend the University next fall.

Wednesday was the first day that potential recruits could sign national letters of intent.

“We recruited needs as we always do,” APSU coach Rick Christophel said. “We pinpointed some areas, in particular, and we felt like we did well recruiting those areas. We still would like to find a linebacker and another offensive lineman—we signed one (Julian Virgo, of Pope John Paul II in Hendersonville), but we really feel good about this recruiting class so far.
