Public Input Meeting for Recreation Use Study

 

City of ClarksvilleThe City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department invites residents to a public input meeting to discuss potential recreation and community-use amenities which may be suitable for 90 acres of city-owned property located on Ford Street in New Providence.  

The meeting will be held at the New Providence Outreach Center located at 207 Oak Street, Tuesday, August 3rd at 6:00pm.

Justice Department, HUD hold “fact finding’ meeting tonight on downtown redevelopment

 

The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will host a fact finding meeting tonight on the controversial downtown redevelopment plan, dubbed “the blight bill,” including its eminent domain and assemblage issues. The meeting will be held at the New Providence Outreach Center, 207 Oak Street, in Clarksville at 7:00 p.m.

The redevelopment plan was first brought to the attention of federal officials this summer, when local NAACP President Jimmie Garland submitted some concerns to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Justice Department, HUD to hold “fact finding” session on redevelopment issues

 

The U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will host a fact finding meeting on November 20 at 7 p.m. at the New Providence Outreach Center, 207 Oak Street, in Clarksville.According to Terry McMoore of the Urban Resource Center, this is a precursor to a larger public forum on downtown redevelopment issues.

The original Community Town Hall Meeting format was discarded in favor of this new agenda. Elected officials, community leaders and civic organizations have been invited to attend. The meeting is also open to interested members of the public. «Read the rest of this article»

Councilor Lewis to address Outreach Center, Leadership Clarksville forum

 

UPDATE 9.29.08: This event has been canceled.

Ward 3 City Councilor James Lewis will speak at the New Providence Outreach Center on Monday September 29, at 6:30 p.m.  The center is located at 207 Oak Street.

Lewis will also speak at The Leadership Clarksville Forum at the Economic Development Council Office on Jefferson Street  Green Bank at 4:30 on, Tuesday, September 30.
