AAA announces Gas Price drop surpasses 100 Consecutive Days

 

AAATampa, FL – Motorists in Georgia, Tennessee, and now Florida welcomed the New Year with gasoline selling below $2.00 a gallon at some filling stations. This begins what could be a year of monstrous savings at the pump after record-high oil production in 2014 pushed crude oil and gas prices to the lowest level in six years.

U.S. gasoline prices were $1.11 more expensive just one year ago. At the beginning of 2014, the national average for regular unleaded was $3.32. Prices rose in the spring due to refinery maintenance and the switch to “summer-blend gasoline,” peaking at $3.70 on April 18th. «Read the rest of this article»

NASA reports International Space Station celebrates New Year 16 Times

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – The Expedition 42 crew orbiting Earth on the International Space Station gets the opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve a whopping 16 times as it circles the globe at 17,500 miles an hour.

Commander Barry “Butch” Wilmore and his crew, which includes NASA’s Terry Virts, Russian cosmonauts Elena Serova, Alexander Samoukutyaev and Anton Shkaplerov, and European Space Agency astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, say they plan to celebrate with fruit juice toasts.

Monrovia, Liberia – On December 31st, 2014, the 101st Sustainment Brigade, Task Force Lifeliner, Joint Forces Command – United Assistance, lower their patch in celebration of the New Year at Camp Buchanan, Buchanan, Liberia.

The Soldiers celebrated with a night fun run, a talent show, and the lowering of the 101st Sustainment Brigade Patch at midnight.

Rossview Hawks extend win-streak to three with last-second victory versus Logan County

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s boys basketball team got a driving layup from Javon Vaughn in the final seconds, Tuesday, December 23rd in the final game of its own Christmas Classic, to defeat Logan County (KY) High School, 57-56, and extend its win streak to three games.

The Hawks (8-5) had seen Logan County take its final lead of the contest, 56-55, with two free throws by Noah Whittinghill, with 24 seconds left.

Rossview would bring the ball up, but got trapped in the corner, forcing a timeout, with 14.1 seconds left.

Divorced but not Broken: Easter Hope is not Exclusive

 

Kris WolfeClarksville, TN – It wasn’t that long ago that I was a divorcee. It was not an easy time in my life by any stretch of even the most twisted imagination. But one thing is for sure; hope was the O2 of every breath I took.

I am remarried now. And I certainly feel blessed, but I have several friends who are “single moms” and they are some of the most beautifully humble, loving and godly people I know. There isn’t a public figure, famous writer, or inspirational speaker that adds more value and light to my life than these women do.

Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan – Officers and enlisted soldiers with Task Force Lifeliner dribble into the New Year. They competed against each other in a friendly game of basketball to prove once and for all “Who the better basketball player is?”

This game gave the Lifeliners an opportunity to demonstrate their sportsmanship and to further build on unit camaraderie outside of their operational mission.
