Tennessee Titans 2015 Schedule released

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans open the 2015 regular season at Tampa Bay on September 13th and they will open the home schedule on September 27th against the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans also will appear in a Thursday night primetime contest at the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 19th.

“The release of the schedule for the upcoming season is always an exciting time for a coach, the players and an organization. It seems like on a yearly basis the schedule has sections that provide challenges and opportunities,” said Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt. “Opening on the road for the first two weeks jumps out at first look and certainly creates a sense of urgency to open the season.”

Tennessee Titans’ 2015 Regular Season Opponents released

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The opponents for the Tennessee Titans 2015 season have been released. They will of course play their AFC South Division rivals on the road and at home (Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars).

Using the NFL’s schedule rotation, the Titans will face, in 2015, all of the AFC East Division teams, playing host at LP Field to the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins while traveling to the New York Jets and New England Patriots.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – This week the Tennessee Titans (2-12) travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12) in a nationally-televised game. Kickoff at EverBank Field (capacity 67,297) is scheduled for 7:25pm CST on Thursday, December 18th.

The Titans are looking to sweep the season series with the Jaguars for only the fifth time in the 20-year-old rivalry. They won the October 12th matchup at LP Field, which extended their lead in the all-time series to 23-17, including playoffs.

Tennessee Titans sign quarterback Jordan Palmer

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – On Monday, December 15th, the Tennessee Titans added quarterback Jordan Palmer to the team. Jake Locker went down during Sunday’s game versus the New York Jets and was placed on injured reserve leaving the Titans with just one active quarterback, Charlie Whitehurst.

Palmer was drafted in 2006 by the Washington Redskins. He has been on the Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. He was last on the Chicago Bears roster in 2013.

Palmer will serve as backup to Whitehurst.

Tenenssee Titans put Jake Locker on Injured Reserve

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans announced Monday that quarterback Jake Locker has been placed on injured reserve.

Locker was knocked out of the game Sunday against the New York Jets in the second quarter when defensive end Quinton Coples hit Locker from behind driving his left shoulder into the ground. Locker dislocated his left shoulder and did not return to the game.

Tennessee Titans lost to the New York Jets 16-11 at LP Field Sunday

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (2-12) lost to the New York Jets (3-22) at LP Field Sunday, 16-11. It was their eighth straight loss and 11th loss in their last 12 games.

The Jets rallied in the fourth quarter to take the lead on a 1 yard run by Chris Ivory for a touchdown. The drive was extended on an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Titans’ middle linebacker Wesley Woodyard. The penalty gave New York a first down instead of a 4th and 19.

Tennessee Titans get rolled by New York Giants 36-7 at LP Field

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (2-11) lost Sunday afternoon 36-7 to the New York Giants (4-9) at LP Field. The loss was the Titans’ seventh in a row.

New York rolled off 23 unanswered points in the first half. Tennessee’s only points came in the 2nd half when defensive back Marqueston Huff intercepted an Eli Manning pass intended for tight end Larry Donnell. He ran it back 23 yards for a touchdown. With the win, the Giants ended a seven game losing streak.
