Nashville Predators defeat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – Pekka Rinne blocked 47 shots, the second highest total in his illustrious career, and Ryan Ellis scored the game winner, as the Nashville Predators defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 3-2 at the Bell Center.  Tonight’s win was the third overtime game of the four game road swing.   

Rinne showed why he should be in the conversation about “elite” NHL goaltenders, with tonight’s performance. Not only did he stonewall the Canadiens for the victory, but the Predator’s netminder stopped 10 shots in the overtime period alone.   Montreal netminder Carey Price, blocked 30 shots on the night.

Nashville Predators win thriller against New York Islanders 5-4

 

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators won an overtime thriller to begin their four game road trip tonight, against the New York Islanders, 5-4.  Ryan Johansen tied the game with just under one minute in regulation, then THE captain, Roman Josi scored the game winner to earn the Predators the two points. 

In what can only be described as one of the most exciting comebacks in Nashville Predators history, Nashville gets the win in a battle of goaltenders as Pekka Rinne and New York’s Jaroslav Halak put on a clinic.

Nashville Predators defeat New York Rangers 5-2

 

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators completed a four game homestand with a resounding victory over the visiting New York Rangers, 5-2.  Nashville has now won eight of their last ten games with the Bridgestone Arena win.

Predators goalie Pekka Rinne showed why he is one of the elite goaltenders in the NHL, stopping 20 shots and picking up the victory.  The win is his seventh straight.

The game was a physical affair with the Rangers losing both Marc Staal and Jimmy Vesey in the second period.

Nashville Predators Dominate Los Angeles Kings In 5-0 Shutout

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators recovered from a lackluster performance against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night with an overwhelming attack against the visiting L.A. Kings, 5-0.

The return of Filip Forsberg paid dividends tonight with a goal and an assist, but Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne was solid in net with 19 saves and producing his fifth shutout of the season.  Rinne was making his first start since the NHL All-Star game and showed why he is one of the elite goaltenders in the league.  The shutout was his 48th of his career.

The Final Horne: Excited by last day of Premier League Soccer, no really!

 

The Final Horne with James D. HorneClarksville, TN – I really can’t tell you much about the history of English Soccer, Spanish Soccer and really for American Soccer for that matter.

I know that internationally we’re OK, but we’re more like a perennial playoff team than a championship contender and that’s OK.
