Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (0-0) open their 2013 preseason schedule this week at home against the Washington Redskins (0-0). Kickoff at LP Field (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for 7:00pm CDT on Thursday, August 8th.
The Redskins have visited LP Field on three previous occasions, twice in the regular season (2002 and 2010) and once in preseason (2007). In the all-time regular-season series, the Titans hold a slight 6-5 advantage.
Nashville, TN – During the offseason, Tennessee Titans general manager Ruston Webster oversaw the reconstruction of the roster, adding key pieces through free agency and the draft.
In late February, the Titans signed former Buffalo Bills safety George Wilson. In mid-March, Webster moved quickly once the unrestricted free agent signing period was underway, inking guard Andy Levitre (Buffalo), running back Shonn Greene (New York Jets), tight end Delanie Walker (San Francisco 49ers), linebacker Moise Fokou (Indianapolis Colts) and defensive tackle Sammie Hill (Detroit Lions) within 24 hours.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with first-round pick (10th selection of the 2013 NFL Draft) Guard Chance Warmack.
The 6-foot-2, 317-pound Warmack had a team best 37 pancake blocks, made only two penalties in 732 snaps and had 39 career starts at left guard for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have signed cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson. Wreh-Wilson was the Titans third-round draft pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. This only leaves Chance Warmack left unsigned from this years draft.
The Tennessee Titans used the 70th overall pick to take the Connecticut cornerback.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have come to an agreement of terms with wide receiver Justin Hunter who they took in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
The Tennesee Titans made an aggressive move up to the 2nd pick (34th overall), from the Kansas City Chiefs through the San Francisco 49ers, to grab Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Justin Hunter in the second round.
Nashville, TN – On Wednesday, May 1st, the Tennessee Titans announced the release of wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, safety Suaesi Tuimaunei and wide receiver Michael Calvin.
Hawkins at 5-foot-11 was acquired in the 2008 NFL Draft with a fourth round pick out of California. In 2012, he started once and played in seven games. He had five receptions for 62 yards. He was inactive for nine games. He had career highs in 2011 with 47 catches for 470 yards and a touchdown.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have taken Nebraska strong safety Daimion Stafford in the 7th round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 248th overall pick.
At 6-foot-0, 221 pounds, Stafford is a solid built player with the speed to close with receivers downfield. He has the power to hit receivers making catches over the middle and along the sideline. «Read the rest of this article»
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans added another cornerback in the sixth round, selecting Nevada’s Khalid Wooten with the 202nd overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Wooten earned All-Mountain West Second-Team honors as a senior, recording 53 tackles, two interceptions (one returned for a TD), and 14 pass defenses. Wooten also returned 16 punts for 242 yards. «Read the rest of this article»
Tennessee Titans have selected LSU defensive end Lavar Edwards in the 5th round of the 2013 NFL Draft
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans has selected LSU defensive lineman Lavar Edwards in the 5th round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 142nd overall pick.
At 6-foot-4, 277 pounds, Edwards can not only edge rush, but can press the pocket while engaged. He has the speed to chase down quarterbacks and to keep up with runningbacks. He reads the option well and is a good run defender. «Read the rest of this article»
Tennessee Titans select California Offensive Lineman Brian Schwenke in Fourth Round of 2013 NFL Draft
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans started the final day of the 2013 NFL Draft by adding another offensive lineman with the 107th overall pick in the fourth round.
