Tennessee Titans Marcus Mariota career off to fast start

Tennessee Titans

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Arguably the most significant reason for optimism in the Tennessee Titans camp is the play of Marcus Mariota, who completed his second NFL season in 2016.

As a first alternate for the NFL Pro Bowl, the former second-overall pick would have been the sixth Titan to receive an invitation for the all-star game had he been physically able to participate.

His season came to an end when he fractured his right fibula at the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 24th, which required surgery to correct. He was placed on injured reserve in Week 17.

Tennessee Titans have Six Game Improvement under coach Mike Mularkey

Tennessee Titans

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Mike Mularkey helped the Tennessee Titans achieve a reversal rarely seen in the 57-year history of the organization. He became the second coach to take over the team and in his first full-time season deliver at least six more wins than the previous year.

Sid Gillman was the first to accomplish the feat with the 1974 club that went 7-7 one year after finishing 1-13.

Tennessee Titans Mike Mularkey and Staff looking for their kind of Players

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey wasted little time in defining the sought-after characteristics of players on his roster. “Smart, tough, physical, coachable and accountable” was how he put it at his opening press conference in January, and the sentiment was echoed in the subsequent months by Robinson.

The winnowing process began with the offseason program from April through June. It continues when players report following a six-week break, and then there are only two weeks from the initial training camp practice to August 13th, when the Titans host the San Diego Chargers in the first of four preseason games.
