Clarksville, TN – Almost three years ago Austin Peay State University Lady Govs basketball player Shelby Olszewski thought her career on the hardwood was over, but several factors leading into this season have led her back to basketball and a second chance to end what she began on her own terms.
“I never really expected that I would come back (and play basketball),” Olszewski said. “I never thought I would do it, but my sister (Nicole) said to me when I told her that I was going to come back and play again said ‘at least you’ll get to finish what you started’”.

Richmond, KY – The new year brings a clean slate as Austin Peay women’s basketball team opens Ohio Valley Conference play with a 3:00pm (CT), Saturday contest at Eastern Kentucky.
The Lady Govs will look to start their second season on a positive note, but will have to do so against one of the OVC’s top defensive teams.
Brentwood, TN – Ninety-five Austin Peay State University student-athletes were recognized on the Ohio Valley Conference’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for their academic achievements during the 2013-14 academic year. That total included 15 student-athletes who received the league’s Academic Medal of Honor.

Atlanta, GA – For the second consecutive season, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team was recognized for its excellence in the classroom, ranking 16th among Division I programs in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 313 student-athletes posted a 2.914 grade-point average during the recently completed Spring 2014 semester, the athletics department announced Wednesday.
The 2.914 cumulative GPA accumulated by the department’s student-athletes was the eighth-best mark in program history. It also is the fifth consecutive semester the group posted a 2.90 GPA or better.
