Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces its sponsorship of the 2015 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) which is administered in Tennessee by the Department of Human Services under an agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Clarksville, TN – Eight students from Northeast Middle School have qualified for the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C., in June. NEMS had students qualify in every event, which means they each earned either 1st or 2nd place at the state level.

Clarksville, TN – The bleachers in William Workman Gymnasium at Clarksville High School were full Saturday afternoon as 48 of the best eighth grade student athletes from six different counties in Tennessee and Kentucky took the court for the first ever Playmakers Basketball Academy TN/KY Middle School All-Star games.
The multitude of fans were not disappointed as the players, divided into girls and boys blue and red teams, competed with tremendous effort. The games were filled with great assists, sharp shooting, aggressive rebounding and floor-diving battles for possession.
Clarksville, TN – “One, two, three, hard work!” Those words were shouted from center court in the Emmanuel Family Life Center Sunday afternoon by Terry Boykin, founder of the Playmaker Basketball Academy, and 24 huddled middle school basketball players after an intense, fast paced scrimmage.
The players were 24 of the 48 total middle school boys and girls basketball players selected from six different counties in Tennessee and Kentucky, to train and compete in the first annual Playmaker Basketball Academy TN/KY Middle School All-Star Game.
Clarksville, TN – Northeast Middle School’s boys basketball team was down by as many as 11 points in the final quarter, Thursday, January 29th at Kenwood High School, but rallied past Dickson Middle School –including scoring the final 10 points — to take the championship game of the Area 1-AAA Basketball Tournament 34-31.
The Eagles (14-1) trailed the Dragons 24-14 heading into the final six minutes of play, but got down 11 points, 26-15, after a bucket by Dickson Middle’s Chase Edmission – with 5:32 left in regulation.
Clarksville, TN – The Middles School Boys Area 1-AAA basketball tournament continued Tuesday afternoon at Kenwood High School. Four teams competed with the winners advancing to the championship game Thursday night.
The Northeast Eagles and the Dickson Dragons defeated their opponents and will play each other in the finals for the championship.
Top-Seeded Northeast gets OT scare from Kenwood; West Creek downs Montgomery Central to advance in Middle School Tournament
Clarksville, TN – The Area 1 AAA Boy’s Basketball Tournament almost got a shocker to open the quarter-final round, Monday, January 25th at Kenwood High School, as top-seeded Northeast Middle had to rally from 13-points down in the fourth quarter to defeat the eight-seed Kenwood Middle 51-50 in overtime; while fourth-seed West Creek Middle overcame a slow start to beat fifth-seed Montgomery Central, 60-50.
The Eagles trailed the Knights 32-19 after Amonti Moss opened the fourth quarter with a basket for Northeast Middle, just 23 seconds into the period.

Richview Lady Cowboys Charge Past Kenwood Lady Knights 33-28 to win Middle School Basketball Tournament
Clarksville TN – The Richview Lady Cowboys were the last team standing in the Girls side of the Middle School Basketball Tournament at West Creek Middle School. They defeated the Kenwood Lady Knights, 33-28, in the Championship Game Thursday, January 30th.
The two teams battled to a 26-26 tie in the fourth period. Then, Richview’s Brittney Hudson made back-to-back baskets as part of a 6-0 run to give the Lady Cowboys a 32-26 lead. The Lady Knights scored only two more points the rest of the game.
