Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team put the finishing touches on its 2013 recruiting class with the addition of right-handed pitcher D.W. Whitson from Columbia State Community College.
The 6-5, 195-pound Whitson posted an 8-2 record and 3.41 ERA last season for Columbia State. He recorded 41 strikeouts in 68.2 innings pitched over 13 appearances. That mark included allowing only one run in a complete-game victory against Southwest Tennessee in the Region VII Tournament’s third round. He pitched sparingly as a freshman for the Chargers, seeing action in 15 innings over eight games and finishing 0-1 with a 2.40 ERA. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team added seven signees during the spring signing period, bringing the 2013 class to 15 players in total, head coach Gary McClure announced, Monday.
Signing a national letter of intent to join the Govs in 2013 were right-handed pitcher Kevin Corey, of Los Gatos, CA; right-handed pitcher Tyler Crawford, of Seymour, TN; catcher Michael Davis, of Savannah, TN; utility player Craig Massoni, of Danville, CA.; right-handed pitcher Chase Morris, of Tullahoma, TN; right-handed pitcher Lee Ridenhour, of Lenexa, KS; and Kyle Schlatter, of Overland Park, KS.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team closed the early signing period by adding its fifth pitcher – Matt Ferguson, of Arlington, who has signed a financial aid agreement, the program announced Thursday.
Ferguson, a 6-2, 185-pound right-handed pitcher, posted a 5-1 record and 3.38 ERA last season as he helped lead Arlington High School to a 33-6 record and the Class AAA State Tournament where it reached the state semifinals. He recorded 25 strikeouts in 39.1 innings pitched.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team adds its fourth pitcher of the early signing period, with Brian Krolikowski, of Batavia, IL, signing a national letter of intent, the program announced Friday.
Krolikowski, a 6-3, 230-pound right-handed pitcher, posted a 2-1 record and 4.37 ERA in his first season at Parkland College. He registered 29 strikeouts in 35 innings.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team continues to bolster its 2013 pitching staff, with the addition of A.J. Gaura, of Suamico, WI, who has signed a national letter of intent, the program announced Thursday.
Gaura, a 6-6, 240-pound, right-handed pitcher, posted a 9-1 record and 2.87 ERA while leading Iowa Western Community College to the NJCCA Division I World Series where it posted a 3-2 record, with both losses coming to the eventual national champion. In the tournament, he posted a 2-0 record with a 1.00 ERA with eight strikeouts in nine innings.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team has turned to the junior college ranks for an addition to its pitching staff, adding Zach Hall, of Troy, IL, who has signed a national letter of intent.
Hall, a 6-1, 185-pound, left-handed pitcher, finished his freshman campaign at Parkland College with a 6-1 record and 4.11 ERA. He recorded 44 strikeouts and 23 walks in 50.1 innings pitched as the Cobras reached the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Region 24 semifinals.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team has found a bevy of talented players in its visits to the St. Louis area and adds another to its roster, announcing that Tommy Hager, of O’Fallon, MO, has signed a national letter of intent, Tuesday.
