Clarksville Agencies prepare for expected cold snap

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – With temperature expected to plunge into the 20s Saturday night, social service agencies are focusing on emergency shelter for people in need.

Manna Café Ministries and New Providence United Methodist Church have partnered to open an emergency warming center at 1317 Fort Campbell Boulevard. The shelter will open at 4:00pm Saturday and remain open until Tuesday morning.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Action Agency offers short-term daytime shelter, homeless services and counseling referrals at its Old Firehouse Day Shelter, 1498 Golf Club Lane, Clarksville.

Clarksville Fire Stations, Recreation Centers serve as Warming Centers

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Fire Stations and City Recreation Centers are serving as temporary warming centers for people who need emergency relief from the severe cold that is expected to grip Middle Tennessee for the next several days.

Clarksville Police Department officers also are on the lookout for people who may need assistance and shelter during the cold spell.

Clarksville’s Burt-Cobb Community Center to remain open as Emergency Shelter through Saturday night

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The emergency shelter at the Burt-Cobb Community Center will remain open through Saturday night.

Clarksville Unity Day to be held June 16th

 

Clarksville Unity DayClarksville, TN – Clarksville Unity Day 2012, will be held Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at the Hilldale Baptist Church located at 2001 Madison Street in Clarksville, TN at 6:30pm.

The event first began in 2010 with the honoring of Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones and several community pastors and non-profit organizations.
