Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Junior first baseman Craig Massoni, of the Austin Peay State University baseball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Danville, CA, native hit .385 in three games last week, adding a home run and seven RBI. Much of Massoni’s damage came in his monstrous 3-for-4, six-RBI outing against Southern Illinois, Tuesday. Each of his hits drove in two Governor runs in an 11-8 victory.

Austin Peay State University freshman Chris Horton receives honor

 

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Chris Horton, who became only the fourth player in league history to record 100 single-season blocked shots, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week.

It is the ninth time this season—the second most in OVC history—the Decatur, GA, native claimed the weekly freshman award.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Senior Anthony Campbell, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Campbell earned his first career Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors for his performance in last week’s road trip, helping the Govs secure two victories. With a pair of 20-point performances over the weekend, Campbell has broken the 20-point barrier nine times in 2012-13.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Basketball’s Tiasha Gray gets OVC Freshman of the Week award

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceBrentwood, TN – Freshman Tiasha Gray, of the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team, has earned Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honors for her performance last week.

Gray averaged 14.5 points in two Lady Gov road contests last week, along with five assists and four steals. She scored a career-high 15 points in Austin Peay’s 67-53 victory at SIU Edwardsville, Saturday, and added six assists, four steals and a career-high tying six rebounds.

APSU Governors’ Anthony Campbell named OVC Player of Week; Chris Horton earns 8th OVC Freshman of the Week

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceClarksville, TN – Senior forward Anthony Campbell, who scored more than 20 points in each of Austin Peay State University‘s road victories this weekend, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.

Meanwhile, teammate Chris Horton, who recorded double-doubles in each of the Governors road wins while also becoming APSU’s single-season blocked shots record holder, has been named OVC Freshman of the Week for the eighth time.

Austin Peay’s Chris Horton earns OVC Freshman of the Week honor again

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceClarksville, TN – Chris Horton, who had a double-double along with six blocked shots against Murray State in Saturday’s overtime defeat, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week.

It is the seventh time this season Horton has earned such distinction.
