Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s baseball team concludes its 10-game homestand when it hosts Jacksonville State in a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series, Saturday-Monday.
The Govs and defending OVC tournament champion Gamecocks begin their three-game set with a 6:00pm, Saturday contest.

Clarksville, TN – Junior outfielder Patrick Massoni, of the Austin Peay State University baseball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Massoni was a catalyst from the lead-off spot last week for the Governors, hitting .615 (8-for-13) with a home run, two doubles, dour RBI and four runs scored as Austin Peay opened its Ohio Valley Conference scheduled with a sweep of Eastern Illinois.
The Danville, CA, native opened the series with a 5-for-5 effort – the first five-hit game by a Governor since Reed Harper in 2013 – that included a solo home run and a double, driving in two in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader.

Clarksville, TN – Carrie Daniels, who has served as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball coach for the last nine seasons, will not return in 2015-16. APSU Athletics Director Derek van der Merwe announced Monday her contract would not be renewed.
Nashville, TN – It took overtime, but the Tennessee State women’s basketball team was crowned Ohio Valley Conference Champions following a, 64-60, win over No. 1 seeded UT Martin on Saturday.
With the win, TSU is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995.
Brianna Lawrence led TSU with 22 points, 18 of which came after halftime. Her performance earned her OVC Tournament MVP honors following the game. Rachel Allen (13 points) and Chelsea Hudson (eight points) joined Lawrence on the All-OVC Tournament Team.

Nashville, TN – Belmont University men’s basketball sophomore Evan Bradds (Jamestown, Ohio) sank two free throws with 26 seconds remaining and used a final defensive stop to outlast Eastern Kentucky, 53-52, in the semifinal round of the 2015 OVC Basketball Championship.
The game was a rematch of the 2014 OVC Championship, which saw the Colonels claim a 79-73 victory.
Three-pointers from sophomore Taylor Barnette (Lexington, Ky.) and junior Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) sparked Belmont to an early 6-2 lead.

Nashville, TN – The Murray State Racers advanced to the finals of the Ohio Valley Conference men’s basketball championship Friday with an 80-77 win over the Morehead State Eagles at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Racers (27-4) have a date in the OVC title game Saturday at 6:00pm Central Time on ESPN2. MSU meets the Belmont Bruins who scored a 53-52 win over the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in the second semifinal.
MSU extended the nation’s second-longest winning streak to 25 and also extended the OVC record.
However, this was no ordinary win for the Racers who haven’t lost since Thanksgiving.
Tennessee State Lady Tigers Basketball moves on to OVC Tournament Championship with win over SIU Edwardsville
Nashville, TN - On the 20th Anniversary of the Tennessee State women’s basketball team’s last OVC Championship Game appearance, the Lady Tigers are back again in 2015 after a 71-59 win over SIUE, Friday.
The TSU (17-12) post players were the team’s main offensive weapon, as Jayda Johnson (17), Chelsea Hudson (17) and Briana Morrow (11) all scored in double figures.
The Lady Tigers also had success shooting from outside and were 10-of-21 from beyond the arc. Those 10 triples were the second-most for the team this season.
Nashville, TN - For the fifth consecutive year the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team will compete for an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament after outlasting Belmont 71-65 in today’s semifinal showdown.
The Skyhawks (22-9) picked up the squad’s 18th consecutive victory while improving upon the team’s perfect OVC Tournament record under head coach Kevin McMillan at Municipal Auditorium. The top seeded Skyhawks advanced in the field after knocking off preseason favorite Belmont for the second time this season.

That’s all you can say about Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team’s nail-biting, back-and-forth, 72-69 opening-round loss to SIU Edwardsville in the 2015 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament at Municipal Auditorium.
The Lady Govs jumped out to an early lead and battled 40 minutes in a game and a season that came down to the final possession.
