Kenwood High School’s JROTC Cadets Focus on Domestic Violence Awareness

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSClarksville, TN – When school started in August 2016, Kenwood High School’s JROTC cadets began their learning project which focused on Domestic Violence Awareness Advocacy.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office holds 14th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness event

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone who supported the 14Th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness event on Saturday. The event was dedicated to victims who have lost their lives from domestic violence.

Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson, Tennessee Representative Joe Pitts, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Montgomery County Commissioner Tommy Vallejos and City Councilman Richard Garret joined hundreds in an Awareness Walk around Veterans Plaza. Renee Wimberly organized the walk. Wimberly lost her daughter, Kendra Stanmore, to domestic violence.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announces Domestic Violence Awareness Event set for Saturday, October 10th

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The 14th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event will be held Saturday, October 10th from 11:00am– 2:00pm at the Civic Hall at Veterans Plaza. Remember My Name is dedicated to mothers and children who have lost their lives from domestic violence.

Red wooden silhouettes will be on display throughout the event. Each silhouette represents a man, woman or child who died from domestic violence, along with their story. Some family members of victims will be there to commemorate their loved ones. «Read the rest of this article»

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Daymar Institute to host Domestic Violence Awareness event tomorrow

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Organizers hope an event tomorrow will help raise awareness of domestic violence and local victims.

Deputy Peggy Macias said the “Remember My Name” event was first brought to Montgomery County in October 2013, during Domestic Violence Awareness month, to Kenwood High School in memory of assistant principal Pam Cooper, who was killed by her ex-husband.

Silent Witness Project recognized in Tennessee House Resolution

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Tennessee Representative Joe Pitts presented a House Joint Resolution Monday recognizing the Silent Witness Project to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Peggy Macias and Sheriff John Fuson.

The Silent Witness Project started in Minnesota in 1990, and Macias worked hard to help bring the project here to Montgomery County.

Coffee Party has standing room only political forum

 

Clarksville, TN Chapter

The Coffee Party of Clarksville, TN recently held a standing room only political forum at the Getsome Coffee Shop on Trenton Road Clarksville, TN titled “Coffee with Candidates”

Each candidate had 3 minutes to give an opening statement then was asked several questions by the Coffee Party of Clarksville executive committee members.
