Nashville Predators win over-time thriller against San Jose Sharks 1-0

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators snapped back into the win column with an overtime win against the San Jose Sharks, 1-0 at the Bridgestone Arena.  Nashville ended a two-game losing streak which came after a four-game win streak with tonight’s win.

Nashville’s Colin Wilson tipped Ryan Ellis’ shot from the blue line past San Jose goalie Antti Niemi 2:08 in the over-time period for the victory.  Ellis carried into the Sharks’ zone as Wilson drove to the net.  He got his stick on it, sending it slowly through Niemi, and his second try to put it in wasn’t needed as it trickled inside the right post. «Read the rest of this article»

Nashville Predators shutout by Chicago Blackhawks at home 3-0

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Chicago Blackhawks broke things open in the 2nd period when Marcus Kruger and Jonathan Toews scored back to back goals within 66 seconds of each other. The Blackhawks go on to defeat the Nashville Predators Sunday night 3-0 in front of a sold out crowd at Bridgestone Arena.

Nashville Predators visit Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings Thursday

 

Nashville-Predators-logoClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators are in desperate need of a win, and it doesn’t get any easier when they face the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, Thursday night, January 31st at the Stables Center. The puck hits ice at 9:30pm.

Phoenix Coyotes blank Nashville Predators 4-0

 

Nashville PredatorsGlendale, AZ – The Nashville Predators had no answer for the Phoenix Coyotes defense as they get shutout Monday night 4-0 at Jobing.com Arena. The Predators fall to 1-2-3 for the season.

Nashville Predators visit Phoenix Coyotes

 

Nashville-Predators-logoNashville, TN – The road woes continue for the Nashville Predators, as their extended road trip lands in Phoenix, Monday night.

The Predators and Coyotes meet for the first time since their five-game Western Conference Semifinal series in the 2012 Playoffs, a series Phoenix won behind timely scoring and outstanding goaltending from Mike Smith. The clubs split their 2011-12 regular season series, with Nashville claiming its two victories on Jobing.com Arena ice.

On March 12th, 2012, Nashville pulled out a 5-4 shootout win, and on November 3rd, 2011, Pekka Rinne – celebrating his 29th birthday – signed a seven-year contract in the afternoon, then capped off the day by shutting out the Coyotes, 3-0. Nashville Predators lose to Anaheim Ducks in Shootout 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsAnaheim, CA – In the third round of the shootout, Predators’ David Legwand lifts a shot up that is deflected off the glove of Duck’s goaltender Viktor Fasth and into the air. Viktor is able to gather the puck in to seal a 3-2 shootout win over Nashville for Anaheim at the Honda Center.

Nashville Predators begin seven game road trip at Minnesota Wild Tonight

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – Tonight is the first of three games in 2012-13 between the Nashville Predators and the Minnesota Wild – the teams will meet at Xcel Energy Center again on February 9th, and at Bridgestone Arena on March 9th.

The Predators have claimed the season series three games to one in each of the past two seasons, posting a perfect 4-0-0 mark in the Music City and a 2-2-0 record in St. Paul. Nashville Predators sign Contract with Forward Brian McGrattan

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TNNashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Brian McGrattan on a one-year contract worth $600,000.

McGrattan, 30 (9/2/81), appeared in 30 games with the Predators in 2011-12, posting two assists and 61 penalty minutes. Claimed on waivers from the Anaheim Ducks on October 11th, 2011, the 6-4, 235-pound winger has 13 points (3g-13a) and 456 penalty minutes in 212 NHL contests with the Ottawa Senators, Phoenix Coyotes, Calgary Flames and Nashville since 2005-06. «Read the rest of this article»
