Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, May 4th, 2016, Pisgah Elementary School, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clarksville Police Department’s Traffic Unit joined children and families for their bike rides to school on National Bike to School Day.

National Bike to School Day was created to provide an opportunity for schools across the nation to join together to celebrate the energy of National Bike Month.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation Awards Nearly $20,000 In Great Idea Grants to Local Educators

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Education FoundationClarksville, TN – For the past seven years, the Education Foundation has offered Clarksville-Montgomery County School (CMCSS) educators the opportunity to compete for funds that benefit their classrooms and special projects in a non-traditional way.

Education Foundation president Brian Taylor notes that the increase in funds awarded is possible because of contributions made by individual community members to recent Foundation fundraisers including the Vision to Reality Banquet and the Annual Campaign.

Montgomery County Driver Safety Program receives Booster Seats

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Driver Safety Program recently received booster seats from MeHarry Medical College on a grant they received through the Tennessee Governors Highway Safety Office. The Drivers Safety Program received 290 booster seats to distribute to local elementary schools.

Each of the 24 Clarksville Montgomery County School System’s (CMCSS) elementary schools received seats, varying in size and age capacity for discretionary distribution.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System has Record Number of Schools Designated in Tennessee’s Top 5%

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System - CMCSSMontgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System today was notified by the State Department of Education that 11 of its schools are designated as reward schools.

To receive this recognition, the schools have to be in the state’s top five percent for annual academic achievement or growth in their academic proficiency rate.

CMCSS has 11 Schools Designated in State’s Top 5%.
