APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityMorehead, KY – Junior pitcher Caleb Powell matched his season-high with six innings, allowing one run, to help Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to a 6-2 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Morehead State, Saturday night at Allen Field.

Powell (5-2) kept Morehead State’s offense off-balance through four scoreless innings to start the game. He allowed just one hit in those first four frames – a lead off single in the third that he left stranded as he retired the next three batters.

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Left fielder Logan Gray hit a home run to put Austin Peay State University’s baseball team ahead early and added another blast late to help secure a 14-4 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Eastern Kentucky, Sunday, at Raymond C. Hand Park.

With the win, the Governors swept the three-game OVC series.

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Right fielder Chase Hamilton homered for the third consecutive game and left fielder Logan Gray supplied two RBI as Austin Peay State University’s baseball team held on for a 4-3 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Eastern Kentucky, Saturday at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Austin Peay (24-13, 14-6 OVC) saw its offense limited to a season-low five hits, but it was highly efficient with three of those hits supplying runs in the victory.

Hand Park.

Gray staked Robles to an early 1-0 lead with a double just inside the third base bag.

APSU Baseball Govs beat Lipscomb Bisons, 11-8

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Right fielder Chase Hamilton hit a grand slam and third baseman Logan Gray hit a two-run home run as Austin Peay State University’s baseball team powered its way past Lipscomb, 11-8 in Tuesday night nonconference action at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Austin Peay starter John Sparks (1-1) worked out of a jam after allowing the first two Lipscomb batters to reach base. He would surrender just one run on back-to-back fielder’s choice plays before catcher Ridge Smith ended the frame by throwing out a runner at second base.

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityNashville, TN – A trio of home runs catapulted Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to a 6-3 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Belmont, Sunday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park. With the win, Austin Peay clinched the three-game series, 2-1, for its fourth straight OVC series victory.

Trailing by a single run after six innings, Austin Peay (21-13, 12-6 OVC) began its seventh-inning rally with one out on the board.

Austin Peay State University announces APSU Governors Stadium to be renamed Fortera Stadium

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s historic Governors Stadium will soon don a new name through a partnership with Fortera Credit Union. The 25-year, $2.5 million agreement will see the home of APSU football be renamed Fortera Stadium.

Crews will begin work to install signage reflecting its new identity in the days to come as the University and Fortera prepare to celebrate a new era.  A celebration will take place Saturday, April 23rd at the home entrance of the stadium, following the final day of spring football practice. The event is free and open to the public.
