Clarksville, TN – Charles Hand, chairman and CEO of Hand Family Companies and long-time supporter of Austin Peay State University‘s athletics programs, was inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday night during halftime ceremonies of the APSU-Eastern Illinois basketball game.

In its 10th year, the Red Coat Society serves as a Hall of Fame of service for the Governors Club, APSU’s Athletics booster club.

Clarksville, TN – Charles Hand, chairman and CEO of Hand Family Companies and long-time supporter of Austin Peay State University’s athletics programs, will be inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday.

The Red Coat Society, now in its 10th year, serves as a Hall of Fame of service for the Governors Club, APSU’s Athletics booster club. This year’s ceremony will take place during halftime of the Governors’ 7:30pm basketball game with Eastern Illinois.

Austin Peay’s Bruce Myers co-recipient of OVC’s Thurston Banks Award

Brentwood, TN – Dr. Bruce Myers and Dr. Gail Richard have been named the inaugural winners of the Ohio Valley Conference Thurston Banks Award for Distinguished Academic Service.

The award was established to recognize an individual (e.g. academic advisor, professor, tutor, etc.), with at least five years of service at one or more OVC member institutions, for his or her outstanding contributions to OVC student-athletes’ academic success, learning and development as well for his or her overall commitment to the institution’s athletics program.

Austin Peay State University Red Coat Society inducts three new members Saturday Night

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday night, February 18th, the Red Coat Society inducted Don Jenkins, owner of Jenkins and Wynne Ford Lincoln Honda ; Gary Mathews, owner of Gary Mathews Automotive Group, and James Corlew, owner of James Corlew Chevrolet Cadillac during halftime of the Austin Peay Governors Sears BracketBusters contest with Youngstown State.

The Red Coat Society serves as a Hall of Fame of service for the Governors Club, APSU’s Athletics booster club. This is the ninth year for the Red Coat Society.

Gary Mathews, James Corlew, and Don Jenkins were inducted into the Red Coat Society Saturday Night at halftime of the Austin Peay Governors vs. Youngstown State basketball game.

Clarksville, TN – Three prominent Clarksville automobile dealers, who have been strong supporters of Austin Peay State University athletics for decades, will be inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday.

Don Jenkins, owner of Jenkins and Wynne Ford Lincoln Honda ; Gary Mathews, owner of Gary Mathews Automotive Group, and James Corlew, owner of James Corlew Chevrolet Cadillac, will be recognized Saturday during halftime of the Governors’ Sears BracketBusters contest with Youngstown State. Dr. Bruce Myers inducted into Red Coat Society

Clarksville, TN – Dr. Bruce Myers, who has served Austin Peay State University and its athletics department in multiple capacities during his 40 years at the school, was inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday.

The Red Coat Society serves as a Hall of Fame of service for the Governors Club, APSU’s Athletics booster club. This is the eighth year for the Red Coat Society.

Jimmy Dunn to be inducted into Red Coat Society

The Governors Club, Austin Peay State University’s athletic booster club, has announced this year’s class of the Red Coat Society, a Hall of Fame for service to APSU athletics.

In fact, this year’s class will be one person: Jimmy Dunn, a longtime insurance agent who owns Jimmy Dunn Insurance and who has been supporting APSU athletics since the early 1960s. He will be honored at halftime of APSU’s 1 p.m., Ohio Valley Conference men’s game with Tennessee State, Saturday. A reception also will take place 11:30 a.m. that day in the second level Governors Club Room. He will be honored with a red coat.

To be eligible for the Red Coat Society, individuals must be: a member in good standing of the Governors Club for at least five years; have supported the athletic programs at Austin Peay through financial contributions or participation in Governors Club fund-raisers and other events; have supported more than one sport both at home and away whenever possible and recognized within the APSU community for their association with Austin Peay athletics. «Read the rest of this article»
