West Creek (37-13), the number-one seed out of District 10-AAA lost to Beech High School (34-7) in five games, 21-25, 25-16, 25-10, 21-25 and 15-11; while Clarksville High (16-7) – the number-two seed from 10-AAA lost in four games to Portland High School (31-16) by scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-13 and 25-10.
Clarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s boys soccer team has been one of the upper-level teams in District 10-AAA since the school opened, but never winning back-to-back district titles.
That is until now, as the Hawks (13-3-4) made it make-to-back tournament titles with a 2-0, May 8th, victory over West Creek High School.
“I couldn’t be prouder of this group of boys,” Rossview coach Danny Chartrand said. “I’ve been telling anyone that would lesson that we’re 16 or 17 (players) deep and they’re genuinely not selfish and understand what the team is and they’re willing to play the minutes, do what we ask them to do, no matter where it is on the field. «Read the rest of this article»
Clarksville, TN – Behind two first-inning runs and a strong pitching performance from Donny Everett, May 7th, Clarksville High School’s baseball team defeated three-time defending District 10-AAA champion Rossview High School, 2-0.
With the victory, Clarksville High (28-5) will host a first-round Region 5-AAA game at 7:00pm, on May 12th, facing the runner-up of the District 9-AAA tournament between Beech High School and Wilson Central High School, while Rossview (22-12-1) travels to the 9-AAA winner.
Clarksville, TN – A heads-up play by Rossview High School shortstop Blake Williams, to open the top of the seventh inning on May 6th, may have saved the Hawks from a possible ‘if game’ with Northeast High School and into the championship game of the District 10-AAA baseball tournament, as the Hawks edged the Eagles 5-4.
Rossview (22-11-1) led Northeast 5-3 heading into Northeast’s final at bat, but pinch hitter Axel Rivera ripped a sinking liner into left field in front of a hard-charging Lawson Moquin.
Clarksville, TN – The regular season concluded and the District tournaments commenced last week. From eight teams in the quarterfinals to four in the semis, and finally both the Boys and Girls District 10-AAA Tournament Champions were crowned on Monday and Tuesday.
Now, the tournament champions and three teams on both sides will begin competition in the Region 5AAA Tournament at Rossview High School beginning Friday, February 21st.
Clarksville, TN – Kenwood High School’s Daniel Norl knocked down a 10-foot jumper with 2.6 seconds left, February 18th at Rossview high School, to lift the Knights to a District 10-AAA tournament title for the second time in the school’s history, 57-55, over Henry County High School.
Even with the go-ahead basket by Norl, Henry County still had a final chance at a tie or winning bucket after calling their final timeout with two seconds left and needed to travel the length of the court.
Mo Pressley leads West Creek High School past Springfield in Consolation Game of the District 10-AAA Tournament
Clarksville, TN – West Creek High School’s Mo Pressley scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter, February 18th at Rossview High School, to lead the Coyotes past the Springfield Yellowjackets 54-42 to take the consolation game of the District 10-AAA tournament.
Both teams will advance to the Region 5-AAA tournament, February 22nd, with Springfield traveling to Mt. Juliet High School and West Creek heading to Hendersonville play Beech High School.
Portland, TN – West Creek High School’s volleyball team saw its best season in school history come to an end in the semifinals of the Region 5-AAA tournament, October 15th, as they dropped a 3-0 match to Portland High School, by scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-16.
The Lady Coyotes finish the season at 31-14, while finishing runner-up in the District 10-AAA regular season and tournament to Rossview High School and making their first trip to the region tournament.
Portland, TN – Rossview High School’s volleyball team will make another return to the TSSAA sectional tournament — but it will have to do so on the road – as the Lady Hawks lost in the Region 5-AAA tournament finals Oct. 15th to Portland High School 3-0, by scores of 25-22, 27-25, 25-23.
The Lady Hawks (27-3) struggled early in their match with the Lady Panthers, having to go five games versus Mt. Juliet High School in the semifinals – the first time this season that Rossview had gone the full five games in a match.
Rossview High School Baseball makes it three 10-AAA Tournament Titles in a row with win over Clarksville High School
Clarksville, TN — It’s hard enough to win one district tournament title, much less three in a row, but that is what Rossview High School’s baseball team accomplished on May 8th, as the Hawks rolled past the Clarksville High School Wildcats, 11-1.
With the win, Rossview (25-10) will host an opening-round game of the Region 5-AAA tournament on May 13th – against the runner up of District 9-AAA – while Clarksville High (25-12) will go on the road to the champion of District 9-AAA.
