Clarksville’s Jammin’ in the Alley to feature The Rooted Wings

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department is excited to announce The Rooted Wings to play at the next Jammin’ in the Alley concert June 15th.
The annual summer concert series, presented by U.S. Bank, is now in its 5th season and will feature a variety of local talent. In addition to the live music, downtown restaurants will offer outdoor dining for concert-goers.

Nashville, TN – The 23rd Annual Nashville Lawn & Garden Show will return to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds on Thursday, March 1st, through Sunday, March 4th, ready to welcome thousands of people to Tennessee’s largest annual gardening event.
Gardens Past, Present & Future is the theme for the 4-day show that is a “must-go” event for anyone who loves spring flowers and plants, can’t wait to plant a vegetable garden, wants some gardening tips and landscaping ideas, or enjoys shopping for outdoor décor and garden gadgets.

Bank of America Ends Debit Card Fee Plans Following Consumer Backlash
Episode Demonstrates Consumers Have Power to Shape the Marketplace
San Francisco, CA – Following weeks of consumer protest, Bank of America announced today that it is dropping its plan to begin charging consumers a monthly $5.00 debit card fee. Bank of America’s decision demonstrates that consumers can have a big impact on banking industry practices by joining together and making their voices heard, according to Consumers Union, the advocacy arm of Consumer Reports.
“Consumers have the power to make the big banks back down from unfair practices if they raise their voices and vote with their feet and their dollars,” said Norma Garcia, manager of Consumers Union’s financial services program. “In the end, Bank of America understood that it risked losing too many valuable customers by charging an unfair debit card fee.” «Read the rest of this article»

Convention and Visitors Bureau announces New Board
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce their 2011-2012 Board of Directors.

Jammin’ in the Alley Concert Series to feature first-ever “Night Market”
Clarksville, TN – On Friday, July 15th, the Clarksville Downtown Market will hold its first-ever “Night Market” in conjunction with the City of Clarksville and U.S. Bank’s popular summer concert series Jammin’ in the Alley.
More than a dozen vendors from Clarksville’s weekly Downtown Market will be set up along Strawberry Alley from 5:00pm to 8:00pm selling a variety of homegrown and homemade items.

Clarksville, TN – On Friday July 1st, 2011 a memorial/visitation service will be held for the late Jimmie M. Garland Jr. from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Henry Smith Funeral Home 335 Franklin Street Clarksville, TN. The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday July 2nd, 2011 beginning at 12 noon at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 1833 Tiny Town Road, Clarksville, TN.
Garland passed away after an accident in the home on June 25th. He is the son of Clarksville-Montgomery School System Chairman Jimmie M. Garland Sr.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will soon be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once again, after last month’s kickoff with a crowd that set the record for attendance.
