Nashville Predators renew Affiliation with the Cincinnati Cyclones

 

Predators’ secondary developmental affiliate the past six seasons has won two Kelly Cups and three division titles since 2008

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has renewed its affiliation with the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones. The Cyclones have served as Nashville’s secondary developmental affiliate since the 2007-08 season, winning a pair of Kelly Cup titles (2008 and 2010).

In 2012-13, the Cyclones won their third North Division title (2008, 2009, 2013), made their fourth conference finals appearance (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013) and advanced to the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the sixth consecutive time since partnering with the Predators.

Nashville Predators visit Columbus Blue Jackets

The last time these teams met on April 4th, Columbus broke a 1-1 tie with two goals in the third period to win a game in regulation at Bridgestone Arena for the first time since April 3rd, 2006.

Nashville PredatorsDetroit, MI - The Nashville Predators lost to the Detroit Red Wings, 5-2, on what will be the last time the two teams play each other as members of the Central Division of the NHL.

Mike Fisher scored the first goal of the game at 1:46 on a snap shot past Jimmy Howard, with an assist from Rich Clune, and Craig Smith.

Nashville Predators visit Detroit Red Wings

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN - The Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings meet for the final time as Central Division foes on Thursday night at Joe Louis Arena, the last of four meetings between the teams in 2012-13.

Twelve days ago at Bridgestone Arena, the Red Wings claimed their second straight win in the series, 3-0, despite a solid effort in net by Pekka Rinne, who stopped 29-of-31 shots; they also won the last time these teams met in Motown, on February 23rd (4-0).

Nashville Predators win last home game of the season over Calgary Flames 4-3

Nashville Predators host Calgary Flames for final home game

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN - The Nashville Predators and Calgary Flames complete their three-game 2012-13 slate on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena, with both teams having won a home game to this point. The game starts at 7:00pm.

In their most recent meeting on March 21st in the Music City, the Predators overcame allowing two shorthanded goals in a period (the first) for the first time in franchise history to claim a 5-3 victory.

Nashville Predators lose in overtime 5-4 to Chicago Blackhawks 5-4

 

Nashville PredatorsChicago, IL – The Nashville Predators lost in overtime to the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-4 as Marian Hossa scored on a power-play just 52 seconds into overtime and Chicago sweeps the season series against the Predators.

Rich Clune was in the penalty box serving a four minute minor for high sticking as Patrick Kane sent a pass across the ice to Hossa who one-timed it past Pekka Rinne for the win. Kane, Michal Handzus, Duncan Keith and Brandon Saad also scored for Chicago.

Nashville Predators lose to Dallas Stars 5-2

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN - The Nashville Predators lost to the Dallas Stars 5-2 on this Friday night in Smashville, where there was still a glimmer of hope that they could make the playoffs. Those hopes seemed to be dashed with tonight’s loss.

Dallas rookie Alex Chiasson scored two goals as Dallas won their fourth straight game keeping their improbable playoff hopes alive, Ray Whitney, Erik Cole and Tom Wandell let the scoring for the Stars who started the night 10th in the Western Conference, just three points behind the Detroit Red Wings.
