Nashville Sounds defeat Round Rock Express in 12 innings

 

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – Monday night at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, the Nashville Sounds were able to score three runs in the ninth inning to tie the game. The Sounds then score 2 runs in the 12th inning to beat Round Rock Express 8-6.

The Sounds came all the way back from a 5-1 deficit and Patrick Wisdom delivered a clutch two-out, two-run single to tie the game at 5-5 in the top of the ninth. Wisdom’s huge base hit came just one day after he delivered a game-tying three-run homer in Nashville’s come-from-behind 9-7 win Sunday afternoon.

Nashville Sounds come from behind in ninth to defeat Round Rock Expess, 9-7

 

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – The Nashville Sounds came back from three runs down in the ninth to beat Round Rock Express, 9-7. Patrick Wisdom and Hunter Cole both homered in the ninth to help score five runs to win the game.

Kyle Tucker would get things going for the Express after hitting an RBI triple to give Round Rock the early 1-0 lead after the second inning.

Nashville responded immediately in the top of the third when Delino DeShields hit a two-run double to give the Sounds a 2-1 lead.

Nashville Sounds kick off 14 Game Homestand, Tuesday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball begins a 13 day, 14 game homestand at First Tennessee Park on Tuesday, May 17th.

In the longest homestand of the season, the Sounds welcome the Memphis Redbirds for four games from May 21st-24th, the Round Rock Express for a six-game series from May 25th-29th and the New Orleans Baby Cakes in a four-game set from May 30th-June 2nd.

Nashville Sounds get 6-3 win at Round Rock Express

 

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – The Nashville Sounds used four home runs to beat the Round Rock Express, 6-3. Seth Maness allowed just one run in five innings in his second win of the season.

Patrick Wisdom hit the first home run for the Sounds to lead off the second inning. Hunter Cole would hit his own solo homer in the third inning to give the Sounds a 2-0 lead.

Round Rock would respond with a run in the bottom of the third when Myles Straw singled to score Garrett Stubbs to make it a 2-1 game.

Nashville Sounds get 9-3 win at Round Rock Express

 

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – The Nashville Sounds beat Round Rock Express Friday night 9-3 at the Dell Diamond thanks to five strong innings from pitcher Tim Dillard. Hunter Cole plated three RBI’s on 4 for 5 hitting.

The win evened the five-game set at one win apiece and snapped the Sounds’ losing streak against Round Rock at five.

The Sounds never trailed in the game, as they scored three runs in the second to chase Express starter Cy Sneed. Cole and Zack Granite smashed run-scoring singles, and Patrick Wisdom drew a bases-loaded walk. Then Cole drove in another run in the third inning with a single, and Delino DeShields drew a bases-loaded free pass to make it 5-0.

Nashville Sounds fall at Round Rock Express, 10-4

 

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – Round Rock Express cruised to a 10-4 win over Nashville Sounds Thursday night. Yordan Alvarez got things going for Round Rock with a three-run home run in the bottom of the first and gave the Express a quick 3-0 lead.

The Sounds hit back-to-back home runs to tie the game up in the top of the fourth. After Andy Ibanez led off with a single, Matt Davidson hit a two-run blast for his 13th homer of the season. Eli White followed him with a homer himself, his third of the year and his second of the road trip. It was 3-3 after four innings.

Nashville Sounds fall at Memphis Redbirds, 9-3

 

Nashville SoundsMemphis, TN – On Tuesday afternoon, May 14th, the Nashville Sounds lost to the Memphis Redbirds 9-3 in the series finale at AutoZone Park.

Nashville starter Wes Benjamin turned in a solid outing on the bump. The southpaw went six innings and allowed three runs on four hits in his first quality start of the season.

The lone hiccups allowed by Benjamin came in the fourth when Rangel Ravelo drilled a two-run homer to left field, and in the sixth when Tyler O’Neill’s solo blast gave the Redbirds a 3-0 lead.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Round Rock Express scored six runs in the first inning and ultimately kept the Sounds at bay as Nashville was defeated 8-2.

Round Rock’s six-run first inning was fueled by six consecutive hits. Derek Fisher and Jack Mayfield hit back-to-back doubles to start things off. Yordan Alvarez hit Mayfield in with a single and was followed by Kyle Tucker with another double to put runners at second and third base.

Alvarez and Tucker scored on a Nick Tanielu single. To cap off the six-hit first inning, Taylor Jones hit a two-run homer to make it 6-0.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Round Rock Express spoiled the first Tito’s Tail Waggin’ Tuesday with an 11-2 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of 5,968 fans and 211 dogs at First Tennessee Park Tuesday night.

Express designated hitter Yordan Alvarez hit a grand slam on the seventh pitch of the game and Round Rock never looked back. Myles Straw, Derek Fisher and Taylor Jones collected three consecutive singles off Nashville starter Wes Benjamin to start the game. Alvarez sent Benjamin’s first pitch he saw over the wall in left-center to give the Express an early 4-0 lead.

Nashville Sounds get 10-5 win at San Antonio Missions

Nashville SoundsSan Antonio, TX – The Nashville Sounds ended their road trip with four home runs and win on Monday, defeating the San Antonio Missions 10-5.

San Antonio started off with a two-run first inning. Mauricio Dubon singled to lead things off and was hit in by Keston Hiura on a triple. Tyrone Taylor singled to bring in Hiura and gave the Missions a 2-0 lead.

Jett Bandy evened the score at 2-2 when he blasted a two-run home run in the top of the second inning that also scored Matt Davidson. It was Bandy’s second home run of the road trip.
