Carbondale, IL – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team saw an error put it in an early hole before it nearly pulled off an improbable comeback before falling 10-9 in non-conference action against Southern Illinois, Wednesday afternoon, at Abe Martin Field.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs Softball sweeps Southern Illinois Salukis
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team ended a streak of losses to Southern Illinois that dating back to 1986, on Tuesday at Cheryl Holt Field, as the Lady Govs swept a doubleheader from the Salukis by scores of 11-7 and 8-2.

Austin Peay Governors Baseball team wins slug-fest over Southern Illinois
Clarksville, TN – Junior Craig Massoni drove in six runs for the Austin Peay State University baseball team, Tuesday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park — including two in the pivotal sixth inning — as the Govs ran their winning streak to six games with an 11-8 win over Southern Illinois.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team seeks an end to the season’s 0-4 start with two matches this weekend.
The Lady Govs travel to Southern Illinois for a noon, Friday, match before returning to Clarksville to host Southern Indiana, 2:30pm, Saturday, at the Austin Peay Tennis Center.

Memphis, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team struggled offensively and dropped a pair of three-set matches, Saturday, at the Memphis Invitational.
The Lady Govs fell to Eastern Michigan (24-26, 18-25, 18-25) and Southern Illinois (14-25, 16-25, 21-25) to conclude their opening-weekend road trip.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Volleyball opens 2012 at Memphis Invitational
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Volleyball
Memphis, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team opens the 2012 campaign with the Memphis Invitational, Friday-Saturday, at Memphis’ Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
Austin Peay will open the season against host Memphis in a noon, Friday contest. The Lady Govs will also face UALR (4:00pm, Friday), Eastern Michigan (10:00am, Saturday) and Southern Illinois (2:00pm, Saturday) in the four-match, round-robin tournament. All games of the tournament will be available free via live video streaming on the Memphis Tiger Network.

Austin Peay Governors Tennis plays the Southern Illinois Salukis, Friday
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Tennis
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay men’s tennis team returns to action with a 3:00pm, Friday match at Southern Illinois.
Austin Peay enters the match at 2-2 in the spring season, having earned wins against Belmont and Western Kentucky. The Govs opened the season with a loss at Louisville and most recently fell to UAB, 4-3, Sunday.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Softball’s bats go quiet in final day of the Kennesaw State Classic
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Softball
Woodstock, GA – Austin Peay State University‘s softball only managed to score a single run Sunday in the final day of the Kennesaw State Classic, as the Lady Govs dropped two games by the scores of 8-1 to Southern Illinois and 9-0 to host Kennesaw State.
In the opener, Austin Peay (1-3) fell behind 1-0 in the second inning, as SIU Carbondale took advantage of two walks by Lady Govs starter Taylor Mills, with Kelsea Ashton singling in Jayna Spivey.
