Clarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University’s football team will put on full pads for the first time, 3:30pm, Tuesday, in Governors Stadium.
After two non-padded practices last week and Monday’s shoulder-pads-only workout, the Governors finally will get to show their wares to new coach Kirby Cannon.

Clarksville, TN – When you graduate the program’s second all-time leading rusher, the answers are not always easy. But in Austin Peay’s case it may be as much about quantity as it is quality.
That that’s the situation facing the Governors in 2012, replacing two-time 1,000-yard rusher Ryan White.

Clarksville, TN – Young players will get the opportunity to shine this Saturday when Austin Peay State University’s football team scrimmages for the second time, 9:30am, in Governors Stadium.
APSU head coach Rick Christophel is planning on using his first-team players as few as two series in the contest before allowing reserves to handle the remainder of the 80-play-plus scrimmage that will precede the 1:00pm, Football Media Day.

Austin Peay Governors Football’s Running game was impressive at first Scrimmage
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Football
Clarksville, TN – Wesley Kitts made an early statement and Reco Williams later delivered a punctuation mark in Austin Peay State University’s first scrimmage, a rain-delayed event Monday that was moved to late afternoon because of thunderstorms.
The day saw the offense gain the upper hand on the defense, thanks to a strong running game along with sharp passing from senior quarterback Jake Ryan.

Austin Peay Governors Football to scrimmage first time Monday morning

Clarksville, TN – After two days in full pads, Austin Peay State University football team will conduct its first scrimmage, 9:30am, Monday, in Governors Stadium.
The Governors are expected to run some 80 plays Monday morning as head coach Rick Christophel and staff attempts to evaluate a veteran but still young Governors football team. The Governors are coming off a pair of spirited days of full pad work, Friday and Saturday—the Govs conducted a non-padded kicking practice on Sunday.
