Nashville, TN – On Thursday, March 2nd, 2017, the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team will play in it’s third consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance when it faces UT Martin at 1:000pm in opening round action at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium.
It will be APSU’s 23rd postseason trip dating back to 1982.

Brentwood, TN – Tearra Banks challenged herself in the offseason entering her final season at Austin Peay State University, gaining motivation to get in shape and become a full-time impact player. She logged countless hours conditioning, knowing this would be her year to develop into a leader and role model.
The transformation from then to now is evident. Banks has been nearly unstoppable throughout this season, averaging 19.3 points and eight rebounds per game, while ranking among the NCAA Division I elite in field goal percentage (60.5 percent) and field goals made (231).

Cape Girardeau, MO – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team completes its regular season schedule, 2:00pm, Saturday at Southeast Missouri, with a win guaranteeing a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament field.
The Governors (13-15, 7-8 OVC) enter the final weekend in a five-way tie for fourth place, with the top eight teams advancing to the tourney beginning on March 1st.

Banks’ career-best outing occurred at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, November 21st, where she scored 34 points.

Richmond, KY – In a rematch of last season’s Ohio Valley Conference Tournament opening-round contest, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team looks to avenge its loss to Eastern Kentucky, 4:30pm, Wednesday, at the Paul S. McBrayer Arena.
In the past week, the OVC standings have narrowed from 2nd to 12th place, with just three wins separating the two as Belmont sits atop the ranks at 9-0.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team overcame a halftime deficit by outscoring Southeast Missouri by 13 points in the second half, leading to an 84-74 victory, Saturday, at the Dunn Center.
The Governors scored 53 points in the final two periods – the first time they have eclipsed 50 in a half since February 20th, 2016 against Murray State. Austin Peay also shot 53 percent or better in the third and fourth quarters.
