Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area begins its 2011 operations on Wednesday March 2nd, by opening several popular visitor attractions.
The Golden Pond Planetarium and North and South Welcome Stations open their doors March 1st, along with Hillman Ferry and Piney Campgrounds. (After recent improvements, the campground reservation system is now available for use.) Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area is presenting the second in a new seasonal Nature Watch Series. Winter Wanderers: Eagles & Waterfowl Migration van tours will take place Saturday, January 15th, 2011.
“Come out and enjoy abundant winter wildlife viewing opportunities in the southern portion of LBL,” said Sharon Waltrip, LBL’s Program Manager for Environmental Education and Interpretation. “This new Nature Watch Series will take outdoor enthusiasts to our region’s hidden corners to witness some of nature’s greatest moments. Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area and Lake Barkley State Resort Park are teaming up to present the first in a new seasonal Nature Watch Series. Pelicans and Prairies will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 30th-31st.
