Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators travel to Dallas for a Tuesday night, March 12th match-up with the always dangerous Dallas Stars starting at 7:00pm.

This is the second of three times the two teams play each other in the strike shortened 2012-2013 season. Dallas visits Nashville April 12th.

Nashville Predators visit Colorado Avalanche in Monday Matinee

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN -  Monday afternoon marks the first of three games between the Nashville Predators and the Colorado Avalanche, with both games at the Pepsi Center being matinees, and the contest at Bridgestone Arena coming April 2nd.

Nashville has swept the season series from Avalanche each of the last two seasons, outscoring Colorado 17-6 in four games in 2011-12 and 17-8 in four games in 2010-11.  The Predators also won the final game between the clubs in 2009-10, meaning their current win streak against Colorado sits at nine overall, and four in Denver, CO. «Read the rest of this article»

Nashville Predators beat undefeated San Jose Sharks in Shootout 2-1

Nashville PredatorsSan Jose, CA – Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks go into a shootout Saturday night at HP Pavilion arena.

In the third round of the shootout, Predators’ Craig Smith goes in center with some speed, shifts to his right, Sharks’ goaltender Antti Niemi moves right with him, allowing Smith to shift the puck to his left and dink it in for the goal. This put Nashville up in the shootout.

San Jose’s Joe Pavelsk, needing to score to keep the Sharks alive, goes in fast, shifts right sending the puck  flying to Pekka Rinne’s glove side. Rinne makes the stop securing the win for the Predators. This was San Jose’s first loss of the year. «Read the rest of this article»

Nashville Predators lose to Anaheim Ducks in Shootout 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsAnaheim, CA – In the third round of the shootout, Predators’ David Legwand lifts a shot up that is deflected off the glove of Duck’s goaltender Viktor Fasth and into the air. Viktor is able to gather the puck in to seal a 3-2 shootout win over Nashville for Anaheim at the Honda Center.

Anaheim’s Corey Perry went wide to the right, then swooped in to the middle, hit a wrist shot to the short side and past Pekka Rinne’s glove in the second round to give the Ducks a 1-0 advantage in the shootout. «Read the rest of this article»

Nashville Predators host the St. Louis Blues Saturday night

 

Nashville Predators Nashville, TN – Tomorrow night, Nashville welcomes the St. Louis Blues to Bridgestone Arena for the second time this season.  The Nashville Predators are one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League.

Close battles have been a trend between these two Central Division rivals with 16 of the last 24 meetings decided by one goal. Nashville is 21-11-7 all-time against the Blues on Bridgestone ice, including 5-2-3 mark since 2008-09. The series has required a franchise-high 22 overtime periods to decide a winner. The Predators are 12-6-4 in those games, with all 11 wins coming since the 2005-06 season. Additionally, 11 of those 22 games have gone to a shootout, tying Nashville and St. Louis for the League lead during that span.
