Austin Peay State University Athlete of the Week Dustin Korte

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Senior Dustin Korte, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

At last week’s NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Regional in Tempe, AZ, Korte finished eighth in the 75-player field with a six-under par 204 (64-71-69) and advanced to next week’s NCAA Championship.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Soccer’s Tatiana Ariza named OVC Offensive Player of the Year

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceBrentwood, TN – Junior forward Tatiana Ariza was named Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a school-record four Austin Peay State University women’s soccer players were named 2012 All-OVC teams, the conference office announced Wednesday following a vote of OVC coaches and women’s soccer sports information directors.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Junior Haylee Shoaff, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Shoaff shutout Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State over the weekend, amassing 11 total saves and helping the Lady Govs clinch a berth in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament for the first time since 2010. Her efforts netted her second career OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honor, her first of 2012, and CollegeSportsMadness.com’s OVC Player of the Week honor.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Soccer’s Haylee Shoaff, Tatiana Ariza earn OVC Player of the Week honors

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceBrentwood, TN – Juniors Tatiana Ariza and Haylee Shoaff have been named Ohio Valley Conference women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday.

“I feel like Haylee and Tatiana both deserved this award this week,” said Lady Govs head coach Kelley Guth. “I’m very happy they’re being honored by the conference for their stellar performances and equally proud of our overall team performance, because it was a complete team effort.”

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Senior Nikki Doyle, of Austin Peay State University volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Doyle set an Austin Peay record with a 34-kill performance in a five-set victory against Middle Tennessee, Wednesday. It was only the third 30-kill performance in Austin Peay history and surpassed Sarah Schramka’s 31-kill match against Eastern Kentucky in 2002.
