Austin Peay State University Baseball ends regular season with 16-5 win over SIU Edwardsville Cougars
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team defeated SIU Edwardsville 16-5, on May 18th at Raymond C. Hand Park, to sweep its three-game Ohio Valley Conference series versus the Cougars.
With the win, the 12th in a row to end the regular season, the Governors earn a second place finish in the OVC regular season standings – which gives Austin Peay a first-round bye in the OVC tournament in Jackson, TN.

Austin Peay State University Baseball picks up 11th straight win with 10-8 victory over SIU Edwardsville
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team got out to a 7-1 lead after three innings May 17th versus SIU Edwardsville, but had to hold off the Cougars at the end for a 10-8 Ohio Valley Conference victory.
Austin Peay (41-13, 21-7 OVC) would get out to an early lead, just four batters into the game, on their fifth home run of the series to get out to a 2-0 lead.

Clarksville, TN - Austin Peay’s newly nationally-ranked baseball team will put its eight-game win streak on the line when it meets Memphis in a 6:30pm, Tuesday tilt at FedEx Park — its final regular-season non-conference tilt.

APSU Men’s Golf team wins rain shortened OVC Tournament
Dickson, TN - For the second time in three years Mother Nature prevented the final round of the Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championship from being played. With heavy rains throughout the area overnight and into Saturday, third round play never got underway and Austin Peay was declared the 2013 champions.

Austin Peay State University baseball team visits Eastern Kentucky in key OVC series
Richmond, KY - Riding a four-game win streak, Austin Peay’s baseball team will hit the road for a critical Ohio Valley Conference series at Eastern Kentucky which will begin with a 2:00pm (CDT), Friday contest at Turkey Hughes Field. The Govs are seeking to keep pace with OVC leading Belmont and Jacksonville State which sit 2½ games ahead of the Govs with four weeks remaining.

Ohio Valley Conference Golf Championships begin at GreyStone Golf Club
Brentwood, TN - The 2013 Ohio Valley Conference women’s and men’s golf championships will tee-off at the GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee beginning this Sunday. The 54-hole women’s championship will be held April 21st-23rd while the 54-hole men’s championship will take place April 25th-27th.
The course will be a par 72 for each event, with the yardage running 6,858 yards for the men’s teams and 5,964 yards for the women’s teams. Eastern Illinois will serve as the host for the women’s championship while Morehead State is the host of the men’s event.

APSU to host SIU Edwardsville this weekend
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will play host to arguably the hottest team in the Ohio Valley Conference this weekend at Cheryl Holt Field as Southern Illinois Edwardsville comes to Clarksville for a three-game conference series. The two teams open things up with a noon, Saturday doubleheader and conclude with a noon, Sunday single game.
