Terre Haute, IN – Austin Peay State University‘s baseball team suffered through a rare bout of offensive impotence and saw its nine-game win streak end with an 8-1 loss to Indiana State, Tuesday, at Bob Warn Field.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay baseball closes its first extended road trip with a rescheduled 2:00pm (CDT), Tuesday contest at Indiana State.
The Govs have opened the road trip with a 3-0 mark, including a pair of Ohio Valley Conference wins at Eastern Illinois last weekend.

Clarksville, TN – Sophomore center fielder Dylan Riner‘s 11th-inning sacrifice fly brought home the game-winning run as Austin Peay State University‘s baseball team won a 6-5 extra-inning contest against Indiana State, Tuesday night at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Tennessee State Natural Areas Program Offers Two Mid-Winter Hikes in Middle Tennessee on January 26th
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Division of Natural Areas will host two guided day hikes at Middle Tennessee natural areas on Saturday, January 26th, including excursions to Short Springs State Natural Area in Coffee County and Virgin Falls State Natural Area in White County.
On the Short Springs hike, hikers will pass beautiful waterfalls on scenic trails. Virgin Falls has one of Tennessee’s best-loved hiking trails. «Read the rest of this article»
Tennessee Department of Agriculture reports Emerald Ash Borer found in Middle Tennessee for the First Time
TDA Foresters stress importance of Not Moving Firewood to help Slow Spread
Nashville, TN – Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive insect that destroys ash trees, has recently been found in Smith and Jefferson counties. Smith is the first county in Middle Tennessee where EAB has been found. Both cases have been confirmed by USDA.
While Jefferson County is adjacent to previously quarantined areas where EAB has been confirmed, the find in Smith County was of particular concern because of the distance the insect was found from the already quarantined areas in East Tennessee. The location in Smith County where four EAB were caught is at Cordell Hull Lake in the Elmwood/Granville area.
