Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces Billy Dunlop Park to reopen after flooding

Clarksville, TN – After today’s evaluation of our flooded parks, Billy Dunlop Park, located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road, will reopen tomorrow while Liberty Park, Trice Landing and McGregor Park will remain closed for the time being.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department reports some city park closed due to flooding

Clarksville, TN – Due to heavy rains last night some of our parks are flooded and therefore temporarily closed. This includes McGregor Park, Liberty Park, Trice Landing, and Billy Dunlop Park.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation reports restrooms at the King’s Run Bark Park temporarily closed

Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence closes temporarily

Clarksville, TN - The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will be closed for the remainder of Thursday, February 21st in response to a fecal accident. Pool closure is necessary for proper disinfection and protection of the health and safety of swimmers.

Clarksville, TN – With the ground already saturated, Sunday night’s rainfall in Middle Tennessee ran off into streams making it’s way to the Cumberland River.
There was 2.49 inches of rain in the Clarksville area alone. This caused the water levels of the Cumberland to begin rising around 6:00am Sunday Morning.
By 7:00pm Sunday, the Cumberland River had rose from 28.84 feet to 37.08 feet.
 Cumberland River’s rising waters covered the lower stage at McGregor Park.

City of Clarksville temporarily closes parks

Clarksville, TN – Due to excessive rain over the weekend, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has temporarily closed Liberty Park, located at 1190 Cumberland Drive, and select areas of McGregor Park, located at 640 North Riverside Drive. The boat ramp and access to both lower stage areas at McGregor Park will remain closed for the time being. The parks will remain closed until any standing water subsides.

Land Between the Lakes Temporarily closes Turkey Bay OHV Area Trails

Golden Pond, KY – Due to excessive rainfall, saturated soil conditions, and additional rainfall in the forecast through Wednesday, Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area is temporarily closed, as of January 10th, 2013. Staff will re-evaluate trail conditions as the weather improves.

Clarksville, TN – The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will be closed temporarily. This closure is due to a power outage at the New Providence substation. The facility will reopen once power has been restored.
