Tennessee Air Guard welcomes New C-17 Globemaster III Aircraft to Memphis

 

Tennessee National Air GuardMemphis, TN – Tennessee’s 164th Airlift Wing will commemorate the official inauguration of the C-17 Globemaster era on Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00pm at 4593 Swinnea Road, Memphis, in the Maintenance Hangar.

The 164th will transition from the C-5A Galaxy to the C-17 Globemaster III, which is the newest and most flexible airlift aircraft to enter the force.

Lieutenant Colonel Vincent Franklin to assume Command Tennessee Air Guard’s 119th Command and Control Squadron

 

Tennessee National Air GuardNashville, TN - Brig. Gen. Donald Johnson, Tennessee Assistant Adjutant General-Air, today announced that Lt. Col. Vincent Franklin, of Seymour, TN, will assume command of the 119th Command and Control Squadron on March 8th.

Also in the announcement, Brig. Gen. Johnson named Lt. Col. Samuel Keener, of Knoxville, as the Senior Technician of the 119th CACS in charge of the day to day operations of the unit.
