Tennessee State Parks offers Veterans Special Discounts

 

Tennessee State ParksNashville, TN – Tennessee State Parks announces its annual free state parks day for all Tennessee veterans offering one free night of camping and/or a complimentary round of golf with appropriate identification. Veterans Day is Tuesday, November 11th, 2014.

The free day on November 11th is in addition to Tennessee State Parks’ current veterans’ policy, which includes a camping discount within the state parks system and is available annually beginning November 1st through March 31st, offering a 25 percent reduction off the standard nightly base rates (depending on the type of site chosen). This camping discount is available to Tennessee residents showing proof of prior military duty.

Tennessee State Parks’ Restaurants open Thanksgiving Day

 

Tennessee State ParksNashville, TN – Tennessee State Park restaurants will be open beginning 11:00am to close November 28th for their annual Thanksgiving Day feast, announced Tennessee State Park officials.

Dunbar Cave State Park Birds of Prey Program gives hands on Educational Experience

 

Dunbar Cave State ParkClarksville, TN – This past Saturday, June 29th, Dunbar Cave State Park held a Birds of Prey presentation as part of their Summer programs for the Clarksville community. Rebecca Davenport came down from Paris Landing State Park with three predator birds found in the local area; a Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel and Barred Owl.

The program was put on at 11:00am, 2:00pm and 5:00pm at the cool entrance to Dunbar Cave.

This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.

The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public.  Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.
