Instant Peay Play: APSU Football continues to be one of nation’s best turnaround stories

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Another week, another big win for the Austin Peay State University Governors football team, the same team that after ending the longest losing streak in the nation earlier this season has continued to build as one of the nation’s best turnarounds in the NCAA in 2017.

This past Saturday, October 21st, the Govs (5-3, 4-1 OVC) defeated Southeast Missouri, 38-31, at Fortera Stadium to not only pick up a homecoming victory for its fans and alumni, but its fifth victory of the season – marking just the fourth time by an APSU football team has reached at least five victories in a campaign since 1991.

APSU Women’s Golf finishes in Top Five at Winthrop Intercollegiate

APSU Women's GolfRock Hill, SC – A solid final 18 holes, particularly from freshman Riley Cooper, pulled Austin Peay State University women’s golf into fifth at the Winthrop Intercollegiate at Rock Hill Country Club.

Austin Peay’s 627 (315-312) put the Govs two shots up on UNC Asheville (629) for top-five honors.

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – Junior Cecily Gable hammered home a season-high 16 kills, leading Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team to a four-set Ohio Valley Conference victory against Tennessee State, Friday night, at the Dunn Center.

Austin Peay (21-4, 9-1 OVC) posted wire-to-wire wins in the match’s first two sets.

APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf looks to keep its momentum up as it prepares for its second tournament this week, traveling to Rock Hill, South Carolina for the Winthrop Intercollegiate.

The two-day, 36-hole event begins with a 9:30am (CT) shotgun start at Rock Hill Country Club.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Coming off a thrilling 21-17 victory over Tennessee State, the Austin Peay State University football team returns to action 4:00pm, Saturday, as the Govs welcome Southeast Missouri to Fortera Stadium for Homecoming.

The Governors walked away from Music City with a victory last week for just the second time in program history.

APSU Men's GolfDickson, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf enjoyed a top-five team finish at their home event, the 2017 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, at Greystone Golf Club.

The Govs shot 294 over the final 18 holes, making their 54-hole total an 882 (293-295-294).
