After a heart-rending loss to Tennessee State on a last-second play a year ago, the only possible way to exorcise those demons was to stand tall and fend off the Tigers in the exact same scenario this season.

And that’s exactly what Austin Peay State University football did Saturday night in Ohio Valley Conference play at Nissan Stadium, making a late score stand up in a 21-17 victory—Austin Peay’s first against Tennessee State since 2011.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – In the second of three contests in the Sgt. York Trophy series, the Austin Peay State University football team will head to Music City to square off with in-state rival Tennessee State 6:00pm, Saturday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

The Governors are looking to regain their recent momentum after suffering a 34-14 setback to No. 4 Jacksonville State a week ago.

APSU Volleyball hits the road Tuesday for three game road trip

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – After suffering its first loss in a month, Austin Peay’s volleyball team hits the road for a three-match road trip this week. First, the Governors will step out of league action for a midweek outing at Western Kentucky, Tuesday, October 10th, 2017.

Austin Peay then returns to Ohio Valley Conference action with matches at Tennessee Tech, Friday, October 13th  and Jacksonville State, Sunday, October 15th.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – In a battle of unbeatens, only one can emerge the victor.

Austin Peay State University’s defense hassled fourth-ranked Jacksonville State all night, Saturday, forcing multiple Gamecock turnovers, including a crucial one in the red zone late in the first half. But an upset was not to be for the Governors, who fell 34-14 at Fortera Stadium.

Austin Peay Golf’s Reagan Greene, Taylor Goodley finish in top 10 at F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate

APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – A pair of Austin Peay State University golfers pulled off top-10 finishes at the 2017 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, leading the Govs to a fourth-place team finish at the annual home event.

The Govs shot 311 in the final round for a 934 overall, two shots behind Louisiana Monroe and UNC Asheville.

APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf kicks off its annual home event, Monday, in the 19th F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at Clarksville Country Club.

Returning to its usual haunt at CCC after a one-year hiatus at Greystone Golf Club, the features nine teams, 10 individuals and a total of 54 players in the field.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University football team returns home to take on the University of Tennessee at Martin 6:00pm, this Saturday at Fortera Stadium with both squads seeking three-game winning streaks,

The Govs have notched back-to-back wins (Morehead State, Murray State) for the first time since 2011, while the Skyhawks have posted consecutive wins over ranked opponents (No. 15 Chattanooga, No. 20 Tennessee State) for the first time program history.

Instant Peay Play: With streak behind them, OVC season looms for APSU Football

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s football team put one big hurdle behind them September 16th, 2017 with its victory over Morehead State, at Fortera Stadium, to end the nation’s longest overall losing streak at 29 games, but now they must refocus and get ready for Ohio Valley Conference play and a couple of another streaks they want to put to bed as soon as possible.

The others are a current 21-game losing streak in OVC contests, dating back to October 18th, 2014, when the Govs handed Murray State a 20-13 loss in Clarksville, while they also have a 45-game losing streak in road games – dating back to September 18th, 2010 — when the Governors handed Tennessee State a 26-23 setback at the then LP Field.

APSU Men’s Golf Freshman have solid start at MSU Invitational

APSU Men's GolfMurray, KY – A pair of freshmen stood out for Austin Peay State University men’s golf during the first 36 holes of the MSU Invitational, hosted by Murray State at Miller Memorial Golf Course.

Chase Korte (70-70) and Garrett Whitfield (69-72) sit in eighth and ninth, respectively, after 36 holes.
