Austin Peay State University Men’s Basketball at Murray State to be televised on CBS Sports Network

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University’s February 21st men’s basketball contest at Murray State will be one of seven Ohio Valley Conference contests to air exclusively on CBS Sports Network this season.

The Govs-Racers contest, called the OVC’s Best Rivalry on many fronts, will be a 1:00pm contest at CFSB Center. Last season’s Governors-Racers game in Clarksville, January 31st, also was telecast by the CBS Sports Network. More than 4,000 spectators watched the contest.

APSU Lady Govs Volleyball hits the road to face at SIU Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will seek to equal its best-ever start to Ohio Valley Conference play when it starts a four-match road trip with a 7:00pm, Friday contest at SIU Edwardsville.

The Lady Govs then continue the weekend swing with a 2:00pm, Saturday affair at Eastern Illinois.

Basketball Govs begin first full week of practice

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – With two 1,000-point scorers—Will Triggs and Travis Betran—graduating from the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball program, it is essential for the returning veterans to step up heading into the 2014-15 season.

Leading the way is 6-8 center Chris Horton, who arguably was the Ohio Valley Conference’s most improved player in 2013-14 and is on the cusp of earning All-OVC recognition.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Two in-season tournaments plus a move away from Monday Ohio Valley Conference contests highlight the 2014-15 Austin Peay State University women’s basketball schedule, head coach Carrie Daniels presented, Monday.

The Lady Govs will compete in two in-season tournaments for the first time since the 2007-08 season.

Clarksville’s Whitney Robertson shines for Tennessee Tech Women’s Golf

Tennessee Tech Golden EaglesLedbetter, KY - It didn’t take long for the Tennessee Tech women’s golf team to see a record fall this season, as sophomore Whitney Robertson took home All-Tournament honors at the Jan Weaver-Murray State Invitational Tuesday afternoon.

Robertson, who hails from Clarksville, Tennessee, completed an impressive 54-hole round with a 76 on the final day of the tournament, finishing the event in fifth place with a final scorecard of 74-72-76=222. Her score marked the lowest three-round total in program history, edging out teammate Maddi Evert’s 223 at the MTSU Blue Raider Invitational last fall.

APSU Lady Govs Golf set to open 2014 Fall season in Kentucky

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSULedbetter, KY – A pair of veterans will lead a young Austin Peay State University women’s golf team into its season-opening event as the Lady Govs travel 1 ½ hours up I-24 to participate in the Jan Weaver-Murray State Invitational.

The two-day, 54-hole event will take place Monday (36 holes) and Tuesday (18 holes) at the 6,178-yard, par-72 Drake Creek Golf Club layout.
