The exhibit will feature the best amateur and professional photographers from the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky regions. This photography exhibit features four categories: Landscape, Portrait/Figure-Study, Still Life and Experimental/Alternative.

Acuff Circle of Excellence Ovation Awards nominations now being excepted

 

Acuff Circle of Excellence - Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The coveted Acuff Circle of Excellence Ovation Awards in the arts will be presented March 6th, 2016, but nominations already are being sought.

The Circle, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Austin Peay State University Foundation, is a patron society of the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts. The awards have been presented since 1996.

The nominees must have made significant contributions to the artistic and cultural life of the Clarksville-Montgomery County community. Anyone can submit nominations. Nominations will be accepted now through Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville’s Downtown Artist Co-op Gallery to feature Janet Felts in January

 

Downtown Artists Co-opClarksville, TN – Native Clarksvillian Janet Jones Felts will exhibit her artworks throughout the month of January at the Downtown Artist Co-op Gallery. Her show, “Freedom to Explore”, represents her diversity acquired from years of study as an art educator in Tennessee and Georgia.

Her works include creations in acrylics, watercolors, pen and ink, charcoal and oil. Janet’s style is realistic and her favorite subject matter revolves around trees and nature. She works in her studio and also outdoors in plein air.

Downtown Artists Co-opClarksville, TN – Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC) is proud to announce our 15th Annual Holiday Exhibit and Bazaar. This annual tradition features mostly smaller works of fine art by many of our talented members. Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council to hold Exhibition, Reception for 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-Off

 

Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – This Friday and Saturday, October 16th and 17th, artists from around Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky will arrive in Clarksville to paint the city in the 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-out.

Clarksvillians are invited to a reception and exhibition of work produced through the weekend at the L & N Train Station, on Saturday October 17th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. They may also purchase fresh, original work featuring scenes of their favorite Clarksville landscapes, painted en plein air.

Clarksville plein air watercolorist Eunice Kern found a way to stay dry during last year’s 2Rivers Paint-Out competition as she painted a scene at Smith Trahern Mansion. Organizers expect better, brighter weather next weekend.
