Clarksville, TN - Southeast Missouri put on a shooting exhibition in the first half, Thursday in the Dunn Center, scoring 65 points in the first 20 minutes of play on its way to defeating Austin Peay, 108-81.
It was the first 100-point game given up by Austin Peay (7-23, 3-12 OVC) at the Dunn Center since Morehead State scored 102 points in a 102-100 win versus the Governors back on January 20th 1992.

If the Govs can capture a victory, it would not only be their first OVC road victory this season, but their first road win period as well in 2012-13.

Up north, it will be Morehead State against Eastern Kentucky.
Down further south will be the OVC’s best rivalry as called by ESPN The Magazine-Murray State at Austin Peay.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball pulls out overtime win against Morehead State Eagles 84-81

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Basketball
Clarksville, TN – In a tale of two halves, Travis Betran’s three-point bucket at the overtime buzzer lifted Austin Peay State University to an 84-81 victory, Wednesday night, against Morehead State in Ohio Valley Conference action, snapping the Governors’ eight-game losing streak.
The victory put APSU at 5-12 overall and it also was its OVC victory, putting the Govs at 1-2. It was APSU head coach Dave Loos’ 450th career victory.

Jonesboro, AR – After week off for finals its back to the business of basketball for Austin Peay State University. The Govs will hit the road to face Arkansas State, 2:00pm, Sunday December 14th in the ASU Convocation Center.
The Governors business begins and ends with taking care of the basketball. APSU committed 28 turnovers in its 83-65 loss to Memphis-it was the third time this season the Govs committed 20 or more turnovers.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball opens season with Samford at home Friday night

Clarksville, TN – It has been a rare occasion Austin Peay men’s basketball team has opened at home, at least under head coach Dave Loos.
In fact, Friday’s 7:00pm, season opener against Samford in Dave Aaron Arena is only the fifth time in Loos’ 23 season the Governors have opened a season at home. It has been since the 2003-04 season the Governors (Knoxville College) have played at home. It has been since the 1995-96 season since the Govs played a Division I team (Northern Illinois) at home to open the season. Normally the Govs are paying the bills through guarantee games or related tournaments.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball opens Canadian exhibition series Saturday

Toronto, Canada – For the first time in Austin Peay State University basketball history a team twice will be playing outside the United States during one season.
The first of those trips will be of the exhibition variety, starting this weekend when the Governors play three straight days in Toronto. Later in the fall, the Govs will head to Cancun for the final two games of the Triple Crown Cancun Challenge.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Golf captures OVC Academic Award for fourth straight year

Nashville, TN – For a fourth straight year, Austin Peay State University women’s golf team has earned the Ohio Valley Conference Team Academic Achievement Award for its respective sport.
Lady Govs golf was one of two APSU teams to earn such distinction, joining the Governors Tennis team. The team academic achievement awards are presented annually in each OVC-sponsored sport to the member institution’s team with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 grade point average or higher-the Lady Govs golf team had seven members earn such status while the men’s tennis team had five.

Murray State Racers bounce back from Thursday loss, hands Austin Peay Governors Basketball a 28-point loss

Murray, KY – Coming off their first loss of the season, Murray State entered Saturday night’s return game against the Austin Peay Governors eager to prove to the rest of the nation that the Racers are still the team to beat in the Ohio Valley Conference.
And, unfortunately for the Govs, the Racers had no problems proving that point as Isaiah Canaan scored 14 of his game-high 23 points in the first half, fueling the Racers to a 82-63 blowout win over their conference rivals in the CFSB Center.
 Alton Williams led the Austin Peay Governors with a career-high 15 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting. Austin Peay Men's Basketball.
